I an very new to this site, been having a read and finally have the courage to post...
Just wanted to vent/check something out with people, as there is no one in my circle of friends who have had a baby or conceived before... eek!
Ok, DP and I don't use any form of contraception other than the withdrawal method. Yes, I know from what I have read here and other places that it's unreliable. SO far so good, or so I thought... (Possible TMI warning) DP pulls out waaaay before he ejaculates, he has been careful (so he says) but I know the chances...
I haven't ever charted my cycle in terms of ovulation but I have a regular 28 day cycle and think i ovulate roughly 14-15 days into that cycle. We DTD 13 and 16 days into my cycle.
AF is due around 28 April. For the past week I have felt nausious (sp!) all day. I am suddenly constipated (after being ever so regular for so long) and I have all of a sudden been craving all sorts of very healthy foods - like seaweed (of all things) and anything green and fresh and raw. Also been dizzy and tire very easily when I am exercising where I usually gain stamina. I havent seen any implant bleeding yet. I am peeing like crazy but I do drink 2 litres of water a day. I have been thirsty lately though....
Is it too early to be experiencing anything or is it all in my head?! Everytime I think its all in my head realise how sick I feel and I can't pin in down to anything else (haven't change diet dramatically, don't drink alcohol or anything, no bugs or viruses). Oh! and I went to the doctors for an unrelated blood test and everything is normal and healthy. And to be honest, I get really excited when I think I could be pg! Although DP isn't keen on the idea yet, so I haven't told him of my suspcisions. Thought I would wait to see if AF is late, save any stressing if its all in my head
So... any thoughts?! Is this in my head?! Has anyone experienced anything like this so early? I do sense a feeling that something is changing in my body. I have been pg once before (years ago) but had a m/c at 6 wks and the only symptoms I had then was implant bleeding, tiredness and sore boobs. Not getting the same symptoms, is that normal too?
Thanks in advance everyone! Apologies for the long post but I haven't talked about this to anyone! Ugh, I feel sick...
Could be... all those things can be early pregnancy symptoms. You may need to wait another day or two before you do a HPT though. GL - let us know what happens!
Welcome Malayna! This is a great site - people are so friendly and helpful and caring. You'll want to keep posting and we'll be glad to reply
As for your situation: I'm as confused as you! I've had two cycles like that this year (Jan & April) where the symptoms were very different to normal, I saw an implant bleed and my temps skyrocketed. But this time I didn't even get a chance to test! So it was just 'we'll never know what happened' kind of thing.
I do recommend waiting until at least the day AF is due. I know it's hard and nobody will blame you for testing earlier, but sometimes it's harder knowing that you were and then you weren't.
Is it all in your head? I don't know. I know stress is a factor for me, but I'm going to ask my naturopath about it. Just seems weird for one cycle to spin out of control like that for no apparent reason...
I agree with spiceoflife. Cycles can be very different, but not necessarily mean you're pregnant. When I started charting my preg symptoms and writing everything down, it was amazing some of the things I noted. And, because it took awhile to conceive, I started to notice patterns every few cycles too and think maybe I had different cycles depending on which side I ovulated from. I didn't always ovulate at the same time in each cycle, my cycles were different lengths etc. Very confusing, with lots of ups and downs.
I definitely agree that the longer you can wait to test, the less it messes with your head! But it's sooooo hard sometimes...
The fact that you DTD on day 13 means you could easily have conceived. Up to 3 days before ovulation gives you a high chance.
Symptoms don't usually start til around week 4 - 6 (2 - 4 weeks after conception) but everyone is different They could all be pregnancy symptoms though.
Take it easy & good luck when you test. If your af is due 28th, it is best to wait, but with my last child I did get my positive 7 or 8 days before my af was due
I will test on the day AF is due, probably 28th. Will be sure to post results regardless...
It's so true spiceoflife and JLeigh29 about cycles. I havent really ever charted mine as we aren't TTC so it's never been on my mind... until now when there is a possibility! So I am trying not to take every little thing as a sign or symptom.
Weird thing is I'm not getting any usual PMS signs - my boobs arent tender, I haven't had any cramping (mainly twinges and slight pulling) and I've had this low range mild nauseous feeling pretty much all day and night, which I haven't had in the past when AF is coming.
*sigh* only four more days until I test (unless AF comes first)....
I couldn't contain my excitement so I tested this morning (AF due tomorrow roughly - still no show) and got me a BFN
So for now I am putting these symptoms down to AF and not being PG... If AF isn't here by the end of the week, I shall test again. I have been reading on here that some women get a BFN before a BFP for whatever reason, so I am still holding onto some hope...
Gee whizz! And to think I wasn't even trying, now I wish I was! Perhaps it's time to have a TTC talk with DP. Hmmm....
Thanks for all the replies people. What a great place to come for advice and support! Especially since I hadn't told anyone of my suspicions...
