Does positive thinking have any impact on outcome?

I guess its one of those strange questions. But I firmly believe if someone really wants something to happen bad enough it will happen. But TTC has made me think otherwise. Do you think that if you give up in your mind that it can affect your chances, and visa versa?
Its just hard to stay positive and hopeful when you feel AF is on her way again. I have bought 2 pair of baby socks and I have one pair inside my bible ad the other on top of my bible and I pray on it as often as I can for a BFP, healthy pregnancy, healthy and safe birth and a happy and healthy baby. I dream about seeing a BFP and I can see myself being pregnant. I feel so certain about it, but I get down everytime AF comes.

Puppies, what you are feeling is normal. The arrival of AF when you are TTC is very disheartening. But I do think that feeling confident and postive helps. We conceived DS1 just after finding out there were no obvious fertility problems, and I suspect that's not coincidence - just knowing that it could all happen, helped it happen iykwim.

We also found that both our sons were conceived when we didn't expect it be my fertile time - if you like we were DTD rather than BDing so to speak and that seemed to work a treat LOL!!!

For me no. We were TTC our first bub for almost 12 months and were very positive with each new cycle. Ironically when we made the decision to stop "trying" and go with the flow we were surprised with our first PG. I hadn't even noticed that AF was overdue either

i haver never tried to become pregnant - and its happened 5 times.

Not that i would be trying to "rub that in"!!! but for me, as Raven said, not thinking about it seems to make it happen.

    Good luck puppies!

For us, we planned to start trying but both times was like if it happens it happens, I worked out what my most fertile day was through a website (experimenting if it actually works) and both times fell PG first go. Positive thinking definitely won't hurt but I think negative thinking would have an impact. GL TTC....Oh both times I fell PG I had exactly the same symptoms as I did when AF comes so I was positive (esp this time round) that I wasn't PG...until AF didn't arrive of course.
