Evaporation lines from Crystal Clear pregnancy test
Hi all,
Just another quick question..
Has anyone had evaporation lines before the 10 minute time frame is up on a crystal clear pregnancy test?
I did a test this morning with FMU and instantly after the control line came up another line that was white/clear in colour came up right where the positive line should be.
There seems to be the slighest colouring behind it, but I wouldnt say its the blue colour its supposed to be. Its more of a shadow line behind the clear white line.
I know this sounds confusing, and I will test again in the next day or so, but has anyone had this before and has had a positive result from it, or have they been all negative?
I rang the Crystal Clear hotline and the woman I spoke to said that evaporation lines if they appear only appear when the whole test has dried properly which takes a couple of hours, and that crystal clear tests were not known to have evaporation lines.
Ugh see my confusion? I so badly want a positive yet expect a negative, but if they dont have evap lines and its not the colour of a positive line, then what kind of line is it?

Sorry, I don't know much about the crystal clear ones but if you do a search in google for pee on a stick dot com (or just type in that address), there is a whole website on HPTs with pictures. It also talks about individual tests. I found it quite interesting a good way to pass the time and further add to my obsession (but it's nice to know other people are obsessing too )

And obsessed... Absolutely!! I see positive blue lines on a lined pad paper given half the chance. There are positive line all over the place!! hahaha
Sounds like an evap line. I've had them before with Crystal Clear.
A positive will have a definate blue tinge to it.
Try again in a few days time, and if AF still hasn't arrived and you're not getting that BFP, get a blood test done. They're the only way to know for sure (other than seeing that little bub on an u/s) if you are utd.
Just wondering how you went with your results? I had a very similar experience here this morning with the same brand. It was so faint but i could see something, it doesn't have me convinced but then again i'm about 5 days past af being due. I'm going to get another test so i can test with my first wee in the morning.

Yes I have had those very faint, almost grey silvery lines with that brand. Spent ages checking/rechecking it, was very confusing. (negative)
Im not using that brand again, my nerves cant take it TBH

Its a bummer because we really want one, I think Im looking too deep into the sign and symptoms of AF. In any case that was last month. This month is another month and funnily enough I am having no symptoms at all. Not even AF... Here we go again. LOL
Oh well it will be what it is.
We have been trying now for like 8 months and I refuse to feel down and depressed when AF arrives so now we are just going with the flo...no pun intended!! Hehe.
The only thing different is we have now turned into the "rabbits" of the human species. LOL!! Good luck too all, I hope you got you BFP's!!!!!!!

I bought a Crystal Clear 2 pack the other day and it seems I had the "evaporation" thing happen to me as well.... twice! The line is there but its just like an outline, not like the Neg line.
I am now 6 days late... used 1st Response thismorning as well and it was a clear BFN.
So I am quite confused now... I have PCOS, I am on Metformin (2000mg a day) before I was taking that I was getting AF every 14 days... its now stretched out to 26-30 days. I am now at day 36. I have all the symptoms, sore boobs, darker nipples, cramps, light headaches, I was feeling a bit sick today... these are all the same ones I had with my 3 year old son...
It's not fair!! I wasn't stressing about whether this would be the month or not.. I didn't even realise I was late until I was 2 days late... sorry girls I know I'm dribbling, I just saw this thread and was like, yeah, thats me too lol....
Hi all just thought I'd update you.
Its almost the start of a new month, and once again (I think because we want one bad enough) I think every PMS sign is a pregnancy sign.
The only difference is this month for 2 days I only ate fruit because everything tasted so off balance!
And guess what?? Did a test this morning and got a Yay.
Although its still 4 days until AF is supposed to come, the positive line is so out there (for a faint line)
My only concern is I had the merina IUD and I really hope the lining of my uterus 8 months later is thick enough for it to stick!!
Oh and instead of the crystal clear i used an early detection first response, and have never had an evaporation line with them!!

I had what I thought might have been evaporation lines with Crystal Clear but they were actually BFP's. I personally think they're the worst tests you can buy and definitely prefer to stick with First Response.

Thanks all. Its rather exciting. I am obsessed with doing tests to see if the line keeps getting darker, and yep its sure does!! Yay!
Although I havent told hubby yet. I thought I'd wait until Monday when Im due and seeing as he seems to know my cycle better than me he is gunna ask "are the painters here yet???" I know painters???? ugh men!! Hahaha. My response will be no, and then he will say well when do you think you will get them? And thats when I will drop the bombshell and say ... Oh around third January next year!! Good thing im a nurse, he might need one after that!!
Hahaha.
But in any case I will never use Crystal clear again and will stick with first response.
