    Fibroids and TTC

    I'm a little confused...well no, I'm really confused

During my 2nd m/c 18months ago they found a fibroid and at the time I didnt want to go through TTC again and had an IUD put in.

Anyway fast ward to now and I've had a 3rd m/c a week ago, we're thinking give things 3 months to settle down and start TTC again.

I've read about 100 different sites regarding fertility and fibroids but its just left me even more confused.

anyone out there that knows anymore about it? or has had a fibroid and still had a baby?

Now that we're in the public system I'm guessing that if it is going to cause a problem i've got a 0% chance getting it fixed

I had a large fibroid removed about 3 years prior to conceiving my baby (IVF). Mine was subserosal,a nd unlkiekly to affect a pregnancy, but was lying on my bladder and was very uncomfortable.

The fibroids that are pressing into the lining of the uterus are more likely to cause m/c I believe, as they disrupt the ability of the embryo to implant (read this in a book last night...assume it to be true). Large inner fibroids I think can also affect the blood supply to the placenta.

So although mine was very big, it was not a factor in my issues. I currently have another one (smaller), and I am waiting to hear whether this one is liekly to affect my chances of success with my frozen embryos.
