Gender Swaying Information #6

HI everyone!

I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who is looking at starting to TTC a girl sometime in early 2011?

DH has indicated that he is keen to try again for a girl one day, but not for at least another 12 months or so - which suits me fine as I'm not ready yet either. But I'm so excited, because he always said he only wanted 2 kids so after DS2 was born, I thought that was it. I still have a yearning for another bub (hopefully a girl!) so i want to use 2010 to do as much research, planning and preparing as I can to hopefully sway our odds to a girl :dance:

I've already decided that I'm probably going to purchase a platinum plan through A-Gender because I think that will give us the best shot really. I know nothing is guaranteed, but I'd rather have no regrets if you know what I mean. If we try on our own and are unsuccessful, I'll always be wondering if there was more we could've done, whereas if we go with a personalised plan, well at least I'll be able to say we did all we could.

so if there is anyone out there thinking of starting their TTC attempts around this time next year, I'd love to chat!!

Well I am hoping to be trying to conceive a girl in 2011, I'm yet to convince DH about have a 4th but I think he is coming around to the idea.

As you can see I have 3 sons, my baby who is nearly 9 months old we were trying to Gender Sway with him but the month conceived him we weren't trying, so the timing was completly out, and we now have a gorgeous little man.

I have looked at the A gender website, am still unsure as to whether I would pay the money to use them, I would love to know what their success rate is. I might have another look at it and reconsider. I'm still breastfeeding at the moment so whiilst AF has returned I'm still on the mini pill so I don't know if their is anypoint charting my cycle at the moment.

Okay, I'm tentatively popping in here to ask where I might get some credible info to read on trying for a boy.

While we only have one DD, I have reason to believe the women in my family only breed girls! I have two sisters and all girl cousins. My girl cousins and I have all had girls, with the exception of one cousin, who has two boys and a girl. That makes for seven girls and two boys in my DD's generation, so far (my two sisters are yet to have any children).

I'm not terribly concerned about having trouble TTC, since my fertility seems high. Where do I start? We're not TTC for some months yet, so I have plenty of time to get this on track.

Still gleaning all I can to get ready for our girl sway. I recently come across the a-gender site. I'm considering getting platinum too - though I mentioned the plan to DH and he wasnt convinced it was worth spending the money on (not cause he doesnt want a girl but how viable the plan is) Anyone got any further info on them? I read Tanya, that you had used them?

So, we not quite ready still... but bearing in mind my age and that getting a girl can take longer (not to mention my fertility issues), I've been talking to DH about starting sooner than later.

Looking at strict diet for both of us, plus supps. Also considering getting magnets! (but need to do more research on this) and using a lube (the ones Tanya has mentioned in general sway info). And Im very interested in how the moon affects things. There use to be website around a few years ago that gave you sway dates based on your birth date, but its not available anymore :(
Where else can I get this info?

Thinking of trying a few other things too like no O and posistion etc... ;)

So much to research though...doing my head in a bit. But I want to know we have given it our best shot.

Hmmm, ok, that could be good for getting DH to agree. There is so much time and mental energy going into it and thats before we even ttc - so getting some help would take to take off some of the pressure is probably well worth the cost.

They have a blog now and often give away plans..... not sure how it works exactly, but you should check i tout :)

Just been sticky beaking through this thread and thought I should join. Was here a couple of years back when we were trying for our third child (swayed for a girl but ended up with a boy) :)

So here I am again, I am in the midst of convincing my hubby that we should try again for a girl, he's not so keen yet but I'll talk him around lol

I have actually been researching going overseas to have IVF with PGD to determine the sex of the baby, illegal in Australia apparently unless you have a genetic disease that only affects one sex.. anyway just wondering if anyone else has tried this or know of anyone who has?

You sound like me, I tried to sway with 3rd child, got a boy. DH and I are also currently in discussions about a 4th. Mostly the discussions go like, I really would like to try again, he says he is happy with 3 boys. So we still have a bit of work to do, as I really don't feel like I'm finished having babies.

Sorry I can't help with your question re IVF overseas, goodluck though. I am seriously considering using A-Gender this time. Given it will most definitley be my last baby and last chance to try for a girl I would like have their asssistance.

My hubby says the same that he is happy with his 3 boys, but they don't understand the whole mother/daughter relationship thing.. If the tables were turned I would happily try again for a boy for him iykwim?

I had a quick sticky beak at the A-gender website, do you know if they have much success at all? I'm just not keen to leave it all up to chance, I would much prefer to pay the money and be guaranteed a girl by using PGD - but like I said before its gunna take some time convincing hubby, he wants me to go back to work so we can focus on buying a house and maybe try for another baby in 5 years time!! I'd be 35 by then and cant see myself having another baby at that age

They have about a 3 month wait on their personal plans currently.

I recently came across and have been reading up on the Jonas method - which claims a 98% accuracy rate for determining gender based on the position of the moon and planets in the lunar cycle etc.
According to this theory, you are most likely to conceive a boy when the zodiac is in a positive sign, and a girl when the zodiac is in a negative sign (I have very little knowledge of astrology so have no idea what the negative and positive refers to exactly - perhaps someone can enlighten me?). Proponents of this method have a very fancy, in depth and apparently 'scientific' explanation for the success rate.
I have to admit that I was more than a little skeptical, but after going back to my charts from when I conceived my 2 boys (one in early June and the other in early Feb), I was surprised to find that both support the theory as they were conceived in the middle of a positive sign. I also worked out my friend's kids (2 girls), which again supported the theory.
The supposed weakness of this method is that, when ovulation occurs around the time of a shift in the zodiac, and due to variations in the life of sperm/egg, exact position of the zodiac at conception cannot be guaranteed. I hope that makes sense? :doh: This method also takes into account lunar conception based upon your natal lunar angle, but that is a whole other thread....
So anyways, although I am skeptical i am also curious, so i thought it would be fun to start a little 'study' - where you can post the sign that you conceived within, along with the gender of your child for that pregnancy. It is probably only worth posting if you are absolutely sure of when you ovulated/conceived, and if this time falls well within the boundaries of a single zodiac sign, otherwise if it was on or near the borderline than specify this as it may affect the 'validity' of the method - LOL. To make it easier, I have put the positive signs in blue for boy, and the negative signs in pink for girl.

Gemini: May 22 - June 21
Cancer: June 22 - July 23
Leo: July 24 - Aug 23
Virgo: Aug 24 - Sept 23

So I'll go first:

Well, I conceived in early June. And I had a girl. So not looking good for us!

DS is on the boderline coz i dont know 100% the day he was concieved
this one would be positive (Aquarius) so boy i hope not lol

DD2 should be a boy then. I dont think it has anything to do with the moon, and the chinese charts all got it wrong for me.

mmmmm..... kinda as I suspected. And how would this theory explain twins of opposite gender? Conception at different dates is possible but extremely rare!

I am keen to TTC a boy next time, so I'll be popping in for information that's going to have slightly better success for us!

i thought we were swaying when ds2 was conceived but turns out i O earlier and dtd right on O day!

so after any handy hints on conceiving a girl. im up with all the timing, ive charted b4 but im seriously dreading charting again, (not sure why)
but what are some other tips maybe like temp for the male etc etc?

I tried swaying for a girl with my third and ended up with a boy, but from memory I done the timing (stopped BD 4days before O) didn't bother with the diet and I also tried the whole douching thing with vinegar and lime juice.. I really hoped for a girl but wasn't diappointed when my son came out :)

As for any other tips I'm not sure, maybe someone could help you who has actually succeeded in having a girl?

I still want a daughter.. hubby says once we buy a house and I settle into a new job we can have another baby in 3 years, that way I can go on Mat leave etc and I suppose it gives us time to save up to go overseas for the PGD so I'm happy that we have come to an agreement.

Just a quick question - in regard to Rephresh and Replens, what is the difference between these two if TTC a girl?

Ive heard several different girl swaying diets and they all differ greatly. Whats the most common one?

I know about shallow ejaculation and no masturbation etc etc but Im interested in giving the diet a try.

I know ingender have girl and boy cook books... you may have to google (can't post link). A-gender also have cookbooks, but you will have to pay for theirs, but it comes with support etc. There is also the french diet... don't know much about this one.

There is lots of info about gender diets too much info for me to go into here. I think you need to do a bit of reading about gender swaying and come to your own conclusion about which one suits you best and fits in with what make you feel most confident about your sway attempt.

Freya - Im trying the lesser known O+12 method with abstinence and some of the diet (provided by Tanya). Funilly enough, I did the boy diet (totally uninentionally) with both boys because my diet was full of tomatoes, bananas and potatoes which are all forbidden on the girl diet. Im also taking magnesium, calcium and cranberry supplements to lower ph.

Im not doing the Shettles timing method because Ive just seen too many boys created with the golden 2/3 day cut off both in here and in real life, so I dont trust it. To be totally honest, I dont think swaying works but I may as well give it a go.

Diamond Girl - my DS2 is one of those boys conceived with a 2 day cut off. So I honestly don't have much faith in shettles anymore either. I do however now have faith in things like pH levels of semen and cervical mucous, and diets & supps which can alter these levels.

We're hoping to try for a girl this time next year using those methods, combined with some other factors (we are going with a personalised plan from a-gender).

I'm still sceptical about whether swaying really does work or not, but like you, I figure I may as well give it a go if we're going to have 1 more child - nothing to lose, right?

I've heard a lot about this Jonas Study thing too. Interestingly, here are my results

DS1 - conceived around 15 June (fairly confident of date) - Gemini which is BOY
DS2 - conceived around 19 Aug (again, fairly confident) - Leo which is BOY

So, for me, that is CORRECT.

I've also had a personalised analysis/plan done with a-gender as we're TTC a girl next year, and based on personal biorhythms (?? I think thats what it is??) DS1 was conceived when DH was in strong BOY time and I in NEUTRAL, and DS2 conceived when I was in strong BOY time and DH in NEUTRAL. AND, they were both conceived during FULL MOON phases. So...its all very interesting.

ANYWAY, i have another question, I'll post here first but I might also ask in the charting area if I don't get many responses...

My LP has always been around 10-11 days at most (I know it was definitely no longer than this before I conceived DS2, not sure about DS1). Also, I tend to have lower pre-O temps (around 36.2-36.4c). Apparently these two factors can mean your cycle is more BOY friendly.

My question is, has anyone conceived GIRLS under similar circumstances?

Also, have you taken VITEX whilst TTC a girl, to help with these fertility issues and also to help conceive a GIRL (as VITEX is also supposed to be girl friendly)?

I too convinced myself that our "sway" worked and I often referred to him as "she" while I was pregnant. I sooooo wanted him to be a girl, and so did everyone else around us. I used to imagine the moment that "she" would be born and we'd be sending our "its a girl" text announcement etc, so when they said "its a boy" it took a few moments to digest it and actually accept that its final now, there's no uncertainty, it really is a boy.

Not that I don't adore him and love him to bits - he's a gorgeous child, and has so far been much easier than my first DS. But I still dream about what it must be like to have a daughter...

I had several friends who all had their 2nd child around the same time as me - they ALL had girls, I was the only one who had a boy. They all had boys for their first children, so for me that hit me even harder.

BUT.....here we are, 12 months down the track, and the possibility TTC#3 is back on the agenda. Although I don't know if this swaying is really going to work for us, I'll never forgive myself if we don't at least try. If we try all the theories and stick to the current advice, and still have a 3rd beautiful son, at least I wont have any regrets and spend the rest of my life wishing we'd given it a go.

Good luck - I hope you get your girl, I really do!! I honestly, 100% understand exactly what you must be feeling and contemplating at the moment.

ETA - sorry Diamond Girl, if I'd bothered to read back further I would've seen you're trying the O+12 method!! Good luck with it - I don't trust myself enough to get that one right!! I'd stuff it up for sure!

I've actually been doing a little research, and I am beginning to think I have an estrogen dominance/progesterone deficiency. A lot of things point to this, and I've recently discovered this is also another thing that favours the conception of boys.

My question is, has anyone conceived GIRLS under similar circumstances?

Also, have you taken VITEX whilst TTC a girl, to help with these fertility issues and also to help conceive a GIRL (as VITEX is also supposed to be girl friendly)?

Girl on a mission. I'm not sure about the Vitex, but I was taking that plus Vit B when I conceived my 3rd son, was meant to be swaying for a girl.

But I have since read the Vit B isn't that good for swaying for girls, but the Vitex is fine. I also had a very short luetal phase was around 9 to 10 days.

Girlonsmission, I too am hoping to use A gender this time. I tried to do it myself last time but I think there was just too much info out their. I also was using the 2/3 day cut off, was takng calcium and magnesium tablets and cranberry tablets.

Guess all you can do is try your hardest.

Has anyone used replens to help lower their PH levels. That was one of the hardest things I found, plus I found it difficult to read.

My husband and I have two boys 13 and 10 and have decided to try for a girl. I have done lot's of reading and have been charting. I have not heard of Vitex, what is it and is it natural? As much as we would love a girl, it has been 10 since I had a baby and not sure how easy it will be to concieve at 35, so will give it a go but be very happy with any baby :D
