Red face Hello am a first timer on here- TTC

    Hello
Have been TTC 16 months, I'm 30 and DH 39 so we dont really want to have to wait for too long. Seems like we have no control over this issue however, am getting frustrated. I never even imagined this would take so long, i know it isnt really long compared with some people, but we are so READY. We set our lives up for children and our jobs now we want to slot some kids in!!
we see a specialist on the 22nd Jan so we will see how that goes.
Any advice or positive stories after TTC for a while?????
    Thanks

Hello, and welcome! I haven't had the experience of TTC for awhile, so I can't help you with that, but I just wanted to ask you if you have been charting your cycles? I know if I hadn't done that we would still be trying now. My cycles aren't exactly typical and charting really helped me to understand the best time to get pg, along with using ovulation tests and a maybe baby.

You will find the girls on here to be an invaluable source of help and support on the difficult ttc journey. There is a thread for long-term ttcers and for those going through assisted conception as well. I wish you lots of luck and send you lots of belly rubs and baby dust, and look forward to seeing you announce your !

    Hi
Thanks for your reply, I have been charting my cycles and have heard about maybe baby so might go and get one as you can reuse it the ovulation urine testing sticks are much less user friendly. It feels good to have some people to discuss this with. Thanks and congrats on your little bundle.

Hi Blayz welcome to the TTC journey... I only took 7mths to get my angel, we tried for 6mths and nothing so i decided to temp and we fell pg straight away, so i dont know how it is to be trying for so long. But Fertility Friend became my best friend and Belly belly have you joined FF?? Some people say Opks have worked well for them i didnt have that myself but i know plenty of people that it did work for... Hopefully the spec will help you and get the answers you are looking for..

Hi Blayz, welcome to bellybelly! Best of luck for your upcoming appointment. Your doctor may find it very useful to look at your charts, so make sure you bring them along too.
I've got a MB which a friend lent me, saved me from buying it. I'm still less confident in that, than I am in the OPKs... but this month I'm pulling out all tricks and using both together (along with temping) because I'm starting to get a little impatient. I've heard that not everyone gets effective ferning from MBs.. so it would be good if you could try it somehow first. But I agree they're a lot more user-friendly than OPKs (and easier to discretely do at work!).

Best wishes to you, and hope your get a BFP very soon. Sometimes even just making an appt with a specialist can bring on a BFP I heard, so I'm sending out hopes that you might cancel that appointment!

Blayz, like Deni said, some people find that they don't like to rely entirely on the MB. I certainly always used it in conjunction with temping and OPKs. If you are concerned about the cost-effectiveness of OPKs have you tried purchasing them online? I bought mine from Lullaby Conceptions, who are fantastic, and they were so much cheaper!

I also couldn't have survived without FF, my charts would have been a complete mess without it! you don't need your specialist appt, but if you do I hope it all goes well for you.
