Default Hi Iam new and need help please.

Where to start. I have only just found this forum thru google in a desperate attempt at finding answers to helping me fall pg. I am lucky enough to have a lovely 13 yr old boy but my husband and I would really like more children. Desperate in fact. We have now been trying for 2 years to no avail. I had bloods done 12 mths ago(everything was fine) and told to wait and see. I don't want to wait anymore.(selfish I know) i just don't know where to go from here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance. Am really looking forward to getting to know every one and sharing their journies

    funkbunny - Welcome aboard.
Have you ever tried charting you temperature to pinpoint your ovulation or if you do ovulate.
Look at the fertility friend site and it will help you set up a chart. Believe me, it is great. I have just started our TTC journey for #4, and really thought I knew my body so well, boy was I wrong. I have learnt so much in the past month by charting my cycle.
The ladies in here are just so valuable to me, if you don't know or understand something you can guarantee someone will know the answer.
Good luck, you are so in the right place..

    Hi Funkbunny

I agree, try temping and charting. You can do it with Fertility Friend. I also bought a imitiation Maybe Baby off ebay but not having much success with it yet. I used the real Maybe Baby with TTC #2 and found it great. I am TTC #3 and its my first cycle after stopping the pill. I am on CD39 but just waiting to see what will happen. Did a HPT 2 days ago and it was BFN, so just trying to be patient (not easy ).

    Keep smiling and good luck

Hi Funkbunny.....don't worry you are not alone!! I am impatient after 7 months, I don't know how you have gone for two years esp with no help. I haven't charted but am about to start, I would also get another opinion, two years is a long time and someone should be helpin you guys sort stuff out. Good luck!

Thank you all for your replies,
I must say patience is not one of my virtues however I am rather frightened about going to the docs and finding out that it is impossible. As I said we have been blessed 13 years ago. Have not fallen since. Have not tried to nor have we tried not to. So maybe it is just not meant to be.
As to the suggestions I have joined fertlity friend and am going out to buy a therm this arvo.
I also have an appointment with the gp for monday.
    thanks all

    Hi funkbunny,
Speaking for myself I learng heaps from logging into Belly belly and fertility friend.

I'm biased but I wouldn't recommend Maybe Baby, I've found it unreliable.

Thermometre is a great place to start, and of course checking Cervical mucus (fertility friend explains the usual mucus pattern) . I also use ovulation predictor kits as an extra check (now i exclusively use those and don't temp anymore now I know my cycle well).

GP is a good idea too, and they may suggest your hubbie has his semen analysis done.

    All the best !!!!

    funky bunny,
good luck with the therm and your appt with your gp on Monday!
another thing to consider over and above what the other ladies have said is are you taking pg supps? If not, you should get onto this straight away as you want to ensure your folate levels are good at the time of conception. I take Elevit as recommended by by GP when I went to see them the first time I was TTC and that was 4 yars ago now and I am on my 2nd pg.
Again, good luck on Monday and your patience over 2 yrs is amazing, you deserve to fall pg soon.

    Hey funkbunny

I found BB after TTC for 3 years...and it was such a Godsend...

Definitely check out Fertility Friend...it makes such a difference knowing exactly when you are fertile and when you're not. You'll need a digital basal thermometer that measures to 2 decimal places...you can get them at the chemist for around $20.

The other thing I found really helpful was being referred to a Fertility Specialist (FS) not just a Gyneacologist. We saw about 4 Gyneacologists whilst TTC and it wasn't until I finally went to a FS (who is a Gyneacologist but with extra training), that things started to happen...he did a FULL work-up to help try and sort out what was happening...

I notice that you are in Perth...I'm in Perth too...I can give the name of our FS if you like...he's now our Obstetrician and I'm really happy with him. He's private but fortunately less expensive than many of them...

Let me know if you want his name.

Wishing you all the very best!

I have to ditto Monnie! Go get a referral to an FS. I also know one in Perth who is fabulous as both an FS and a OBGYN - Dr Graham Smith. If your in private health cover he is pretty affordable and when I had my baby it was free!

    Good luck!
