do you get EW CM??? I am not temping but am trying to predict O by CM so am wondering whether EW comes before or on or after O? or whether its just one of those "around the time".
You get EWCM when you are likely fertile - the few days before as well as the day of "O". And it apparently dries up "quickly" after you O. So... if you do have EWCM and you are TTC, !!! LOL!
It's usually a few days after you get EWCM, but not for sure. There are many different things that affect CM, so you may have EW on non-fertile days/times as well. That's why BBT is important as well - I'm trying to start that just can't remember to actually check first thing! Your temp goes up just after O, so that way you know much better when it happens - but you need the temps for your whole cycle before to know you did O for sure, too.
I've read multiple places that if you have EWCM and are TTC, try to BD every 2-3 days or even more often to improve conception chances.
Hi, yes it can be very confusing! Everyones body is different but usually as a rule of thumb they say that you have EWCM in the days (days can be as little as 2 or as many as 4 or so) and then on the day of ovulation. I find that I personally have EWCM 3 days leading up to ovulation and then it goes reasonably light and then one big lot in afternoon or around lunch time. I also use OPK's, and keep track of my cervix. I find that my cervix will be open and sit low the day before and the day of my predicted ovulation and the OPK's start to read a high level of LH 3 days before ovulation (so for 2 days I get a high level of LH) and when I get a low LH level I know I will be ovulating the next day from the position of my cervix and the EWCM. I have been charting for a while and it's just not working out so hopefully you will have more luck than my husband and i!! Ps. Just a helpful hint, although using CM to predict your ovulation is a great way to chArt your ovulation trying to predict your ovulation using CM alone may be a bit difficult, maybe you could think of combining your charting with another method as well as the CM charting. Good luck! Xxx
