How long since weaning has AF returned??

Where oh where has AF gone ??

Hi all, I'm back but AF isn't ! Just a question for any of you who may be TTC again. We had a successful IVF cycle last year and our little bugalugs is now 9 months old. I exclusively breastfed until he was 6mths, then veeeery gradually started weaning as AF was nowhere to be seen, last breastfeed was about 6 weeks ago but that last feed was the smallest feed anyway so really I would have expected AF to come back while I was still breastfeeding .. confused yet? sorry i'm not explaining that very well!

Anyway I was just wondering if it is unusual for it to be ages from the date of complete weaning for AF to return? Other friends who are exclusively breastfeeding all had AF back by the time their baby was 5 months or so... I was hoping to start gearing up to be in lets-see-what-happens-naturally mode, but i cant if AF isn't here yet obviously.

It's all very individual hon, I'm trying to wean now for the same reasons as you and DS is over 16 months...

Have you had your thyroid checked? My AF went AWOL and my thyroid function was out of whack, thryoid corrected = my AF returned...2 months after I DS had weaned at 8 months.
