My DH and I are TTC our second baby. We had a miscarriage in August 2008 and have been trying since October 2008. Anyway, I know that I ovualte on either days 13/14 or 14/15. My cycle is normally 28-29 days long. Last month we BD'd every night from CD12 - CD15. Is this ok? or should we be doing it every second day??
Also,is there a particualr time of day that is best to BD when TTC?
i am trying to relax about all of this but it can be very hard......
Thanks for any replies x

when i told my dr we were TTC she said just DTD every second day. but i wouldn't have thought that every day would be bad. sperm lives for 5-7 days so even if you BD a few days before you O, that would still be a good thing. in my time of crazy research when TTC, i'm sure i read that sperm is best first thing in the morning but i'm also sure that the cycle we got lucky that we didn't DTD in the morning!
do you use something fertility friend to track stuff? i found it helpful
With this bub we DTD on a Sunday, and i ovulated on the Thursday !!!!! It really depends on a lot of factors - the quality of the sperm, the womens 'environment' etc. I agree, try and track your habits using fertility friend......and not stressing, thinking, obessing about the whole TTC thing helps too - i know how hard that is NOT to do !!!
Good luck - sounds like your doing all the right things....just a matter of time....
I was also told every second day, im guesing it has something to do with making more?
but i believe it depends on where you are in you cycle as to how long sperm live, EWM is the best.
My FS told us to DTD every day or every second day when I'm at my most fertile (for about a week). So I'm sure everyday is fine, but if you can only manage every 2nd then that's still good. In fact, we missed my ovulation last month, but the FS said that was okay as we covered the day before and after.
Also, I read in a book (can't remember which!) that it's good to DTD regularly throughout the month and not 'save' it for when you O. The reason being that sperm do live for a number of days, but they are stored in your DH, so if you leave it for weeks then DTD when you O you're not getting the best quality fresh sperm as you have to go through the older stuff first! LOL Whereas if you do it regularly you are getting fresher sperm, that are a bit healthier and more likely to get to the finish line. :-)
