How Much Did You Involve Your Partner In Charting Etc.?

DP and I would like another baby and given my age I really should start charting especially as DP is a shiftworker so DTD can be a timing problem in itself because he's often at work till 2am.

Anyhoo, I'm just not real good at routine and taking my temp at the same time each morning because my first priority is looking after DD (she still sleeps in our room). I have bought one of those saliva testers too.

So what I'm getting at is that I think it would be good for me if I involved DP in the process so that he could remind me to temp and/or saliva test and it would feel more like a joint effort rather than me monitoring it myself and dragging him into bed at the optimum time.

I am aware, though, that often partners feel like they are then DTD as robots just to conceive and it can put a bit of a dampener on things.

Just looking for advice/opinions/advice on how much you shared re charting/ovulating with your partner?

I found my DH became interested in what I was doing and he`d ask me what my temp was up to etc.

So if you think you need your DH to remind you to take your temp etc then ask him, I think after a while your DH will be asking what your temp is doing like mine did.

Also my DH was against tempting etc until my GP advised us to do so, I became interested so he followed IYKWIM

The months that I did temp which was only 2 months after TTC for 7 months, I conceived both times, unfortunately I had an early loss but conceived the next month which is the little bundle of joy I`m carrying now

    Good luck

i didn't chart my temps but i did use FF to chart CM & other signs. at first i didn't include DP at all because i thought he'd find it a bit boring & mundane. but then i realised that it actually made him feel excluded from the whole process. whilst there was still a little bit of feeling that we DTD just because it's 'time', he also loved checking to see if i'd recorded that we'd DTD & how many times in a cycle!! i think that him being involved made it much better

My DH is with me 100%. He knows FF as well as I do and asks me every morning what my temp is doing.

He's not so interested in the mucus side of things though, but then it's not the most dignified part of it, nor the most exciting.

This is his journey too and I'm lucky to have him beside me sharing it.

I'm much the same as Sue1979...DH always asks what temperature I'm at, and opens up FF for me to put my temps in! Such a hottie!

I've been doing a lot of research since we've been TTC and we talk a lot about it all, so he knows just about as much as I do about it! But I think it makes him feel more a part of the process, I think he secretly enjoys following my temps and seeing where I'm at.
