ah well, if you fall pregnant straight away that would be great and you would just get a scan to check for dates and estimated time of arrival! how exciting!!
yeah just go for it i say!! they say its best if you can have 1 cycle after coming off pill before falling pregnant but if you do, it wouldnt matter anyway.

I agree with Renee - i know women that have fallen pg on the pill and continued to take them because they were unaware they were pregnant... They have had healthy kids - so i don't know why they say you should give your body three months after coming off the BCP.

Yes that's right... i think its just a recommendation... but i know a few ppl that have fallen preg whilst taking the pill and their kids are beautiful and healthy
I have gone off the pill since March to allow myself 6mths to get my body back to normal before we TTC... also i was tired of the way the pill was making me feel...

    Me Me!
I fell pregnant with Jesse while on the pill.. kept taking it until my AF due day.. which never came. Jesse, i think, is a perfect baby.. he just had his first cold, but sleeps well, loves food, adjusts to everything wonderfully.. theres absolutely nothing wrong with him.
I too had an early dating scan.. also to check it wasnt ectopic.

Yeah, I don't know if they say that about the 3 month thing anymore. My Dr said it was ok to start straight away. And I couldn't wait that long anyway, lol. And yeah like u guys said, ppl have actually fallen pregnant while taking it and their babies are fine!! Sound's good to me!!

Sorry to hijack your thread Danni

Catherine, Renee & SaraJane, I believe that some women are more susceptible to hormones disrupting their cycle. Some women don't get AF back for months after having a baby & bfeeding, for example, while others get theirs back after 5-6 months. Likewise some women take longer than others to get their cycles back on track after BCP. e.g. My cycles when I came off bcp were 56, 44, 36, 32 days for example (that's all I can remember, it was 9 years ago) and both times I was bfeeding it was about a year before AF returned. Yet I had one bfeeding friend who got AF about 7 months pp and another friend on bcp for years got pg first cycle off it.

Maybe they said give your body 3 months because that's how long it might take for it to start functioning properly.

Yeah that's right SallyJ, I agree!
My first cycle was 48, then 28 and now just 33 so yeah, all over the place!!
Everyone is different! I think the docs do just say 3mths to "help" your body recover from the pills, just as a healthy option but if it's not possible ie don't want to wait that long, or fall preg asap! then it doesn't matter at all I reckon.... your baby is going to be just as healthy as any other baby...

SallyJ - that was the point i was trying to make... it took my body for months to get back into the groove of things.

I still don't think i'd like to fall pg on BCP regardless... i'd like to give my children the best chance possible. But in saying that i don't think people plan to have babies while on the BCP... Lol
