Congratulations on starting your ttc journey soon

Unfortunately there is no guaranteed way to conceive (otherwise I'm sure some of the threads would not exist on here )

However I think a good start is to know if and when you ovulate. That way you an focus your attention around that time and hopefully increase your chances of success.

Others may know more about diet, but I mainly focused on charting and went from there.

    All the best!

Finding out when you obulate is good start I used ovulation predictor kit which you can spend a lot on in chemist or get cheapies off the net that work just as good

As for diet I just tried to eat healthy and take folate ( there are TTC , preg and breast feeding vitamins available)

I would get to know your body- as the others have said, find out when you ovulate, but at even more of a basic level (and you might know/do this already) take note of the length of each cycle. Don't assume you'll ovulate exactly half way through your cycle. OKPs work for many but it's also worth investing in the time to get to know your own signs of ovulation- cervical mucous patterns primarily but other things too. I'm a huge fan of the website/app Fertility Friend. It's free for the basic usage and it has great online reading tutorials about charting ovulation. And the most Important thing is... Enjoy your partner and enjoy DTD!

Probably best to avoid garlic, onions and sardines unless you make sure that your partner has eaten them too.

I pretty much only know of one way to conceive that doesn't involve medical professionals. Personally I'm not prepared to let you see how I conceived but there are plenty of pictures available on the internet.

Lots of shagging when you are ovulating is a good start. The rest might help, but that's the basics.
