If you had a choice for month of birth

Just wondering what everyone thinks - In an ideal world, and concieving was easy, what part of the year or month would you have a baby and Why??

    Great question

I think I'd like to have an October baby - that way I am pregnant mostly in winter so no worries about over heating & then bub is less likely to catch a cold or winter related illness until s/he is six months or more.

I was also thinking a September/October baby would be good as you don't have to get up in the middle of the night as often for feeds, plus also if you feed till baby is 1 yr old when they're at they're biggest it won't be so hot... but also realise that I've not had a go at any of this..... YET

In a perfect world I would want my next bub to be a girl & born in March. We don't want much
We are all born in march (me, dp & ds & ds wasn't exactly planned so we did well) so a girl born in march would be perfect.
I also stayed at home through winter so he got a sniffle once but that was it, I also didn't have to worry about heatstroke etc...

My DS is September and my DD will be October. Love the winter pregnancy - especially since I suffer varicose veins. OB actually told me that because of that winter pregnancies are best for me because the veins would be worse in summer (but it just happened like that, we didn't engineer it!) Also love that it isn't freezing cold to get up for night feeds.

Downside - apparently September a very busy month in maternity hospitals so you have to book in early!

The other thing that I think about (and I know this is nerdy) is that I don't want my kids being the youngest in their year at school so I'm pleased that so far my babies are born in the second half of the year. I was one of the youngest in my class and I hated it.

I would love to have a September baby!!

We have always planned to have a September baby but fate has taken us on different paths and we have had a November baby (not bad either) and a December baby (a bit too close to Christmas but we thank the lord for her anyway).

If it's within the realms of reality: I would like to have a pregnancy which meant that I could celebrate Xmas, New Year's Eve and my birthday - so I could drink......AND be heavily pregnant in the winter.....etopia....:0)

im happy that this bub is due in may. As well as a highly likliehood of being a taurus (I always wished id been born a taurean) i hated havong a newborn in summer. we had no air cona nd it was really hot, oi was alwyas worried about him overheating at night.

I think September is busy for babies as people are in the festive spirit with Christmas & New Year

I would love an October baby because all my family and friends are born in the first half of the year so it would spread the birthdays out a bit.

    January.

I had dd in Jan and this one will be in Dec. I love my planning although not really planned like that

    My reasons ...

    1) Full term at the beginning of summer (here it only gets Hell Hot from end Jan - Mar) Hence lovely pool time and cool clothes. Also you can use the a/c to keep the house cool, I hate a/c in winter .. too stuffy
    2) They start walking at around a year's age .. then it's summer again. Lots of bare foot patter around the house
    3) Getting up at 5 o'clock in the morning in the summer is not as totally energy tapping as getting up that time in winter
    4) Breastfeeding might be a bit sticky, BUT it's not cold!!!!!
    5) I feel that they don't get as sick won't know ... did not have a winter bub.
    6) You can dress them in the cutest shorties EVERY just being silly!!
