Intercourse, how often?

Some conflicting advice is around to how often you should DTD when trying to fall pregnant. So I thought i would run it past you girls. When it comes to the art of TTC, which do u think is best? Every day/night, every 2nd day/night or every 3rd??? Does it make a difference? Im guessing every 2nd day so that the sperm can re-generate, so to speak.

Dh and I would do it every 2nd day starting a few days before O and continuing a few days after, How ever saying that we only DTD once when we concieved DD and only 2ce when we concieved this one! I would go with every second day...

Every day here, and twice on O day.

When we were TTCing #2 and #3, we did it everyday from the middle of the cycle to just before the end - my cycles were really long and a bit scattery so we did that to maximise our chances. but when we were TTCing #4, we only did it once that cycle, on the day of ovulation. So I've concluded that you don't necessarily need to do it a lot, you just have to have done it at least once at the right time to get the egg.

Every day here! There was the theory of giving the sperm time to regroup, lol, so doing it every second day. But I remember when TTC DD a study came out saying this wasn't true and that actually the longer the sperm stayed in the guy the more they deteriorated so actually DTD every day means healthier sperm.

we had sex everday for the whole of the first month or two, and then we went to every other day for the 2-4 weeks that we "might" be ovulating ...

but the cycle we got pg, we'd only DTD once or twice, because there were no suggestions that O'ing was about to happen...

Every 2nd day, so I could monitor my CM without worrying about sperm etc.

DS1 was every 2nd day from day 8 to 20 most months for 12 months, some months was only a few times in month.

DS2 we convceived month 1 and only had sex 2 times in month and to be honest I was shocked I was preg as a few days before I found out I was whinging to DH month was a waste of time as no DTD on right days.

With this one it was every day from end of AF to a few days before O.

With Julian it was every second day.

My other kids were all dtd probably once near the fertile period, never charted and they weren't planned.
This bub was almost every day in the fertile window from about cd 8 was charting and I do have a short cycle), definitely hit bang on O and the day after this time too.

Our FS said that we should DTD twice a day on the two days right before O, on the day of O and one day after O. Exhausting!
She also recommended that DH should ejaculate at LEAST two times a week the rest of the month to keep sperm fresh.

My guess is that this advice may differ somewhat depending on the specifics of the couple... i.e my DH has very high count, but his swimmers are a little on the slow side... and my LH surge only lasts about 5 minutes so we have to cover all bases!!

We mix it up here....every 2nd day and then closer to "o" day we DTD daily
