Hey there!!
Welcome to BellyBelly, you will find it can be very addictive, beware
We are all full of knowledge on various topics, dont be shy to ask...
There are various ways that you can approach TTC (trying to concieve)
1) you can just go at it!!
2) you can monitor your cycles via taking your temperature in the morning and 'charting it', this is to get a better idea of what your body is doing and telling you, so when you ovulate, when your period is coming, if your pregnant etc. The best website for this is fertilityfriend dot com, it can be very confusing and overwhelming to start off with, but there are plenty of us here that can help you!!
3) well there are plenty, but the first two are the most favoured to start off with..

thanks heaps for that I get addicted very easily haha once I am onto a good thing watch out. For me I am not sure if there are things that I should eat or drink or not to eat or drink when we do actually start trying. I have been ready for a baby for about 2 years now I had to makesure that my man was as well and thank goodness he finally is getting there hehe. well we dont have a problem in the old traditions of getting pregnant I just hope everything else will be fine. well I will definatley keep everyone posted I feel like a kid in a candy store cause its so close to happening hehe!!!!
Im not 100% on things to eat/drink while trying for a baby, but 'they' do recommend taking a pregnancy and breastfeeding suppliment, you can generally get these from chemists and some supermarkets.
I took blackmores pregnancy and breastfeeding gold. This is just to help development of baby and give you suppliments that can help your body cope with the demands of pregnancy. They recommend starting about 3 months before conception, but i just started when i started trying for a baby.
I know they also suggest steering clear of medications that one normally wouldnt take during pregnancy, such as neurofen. But I almost feel like this is all alien to me coz i havent had to practise these things for a while. Hopefully some one can come in and give you more info on all this stuff
Also you might like to pop into the TTC 1-6 Months thread, here you will get to chat with other ladies going through trying for a baby, much like yourself. I found it very helpful!!
Goodluck, its a exciting experience!!!!

Sweet yeah I am taking folic acid tablets every day do I need anything else? at least they are in my system when we do start trying. I think all I need is a list infront of me almost like a check list haha. Well that is a good start so we will see how we go huh!
Check out the book "Planning a Baby?" by Dr Sarah Brewer. It will give you all the info on things that might be of concern. It's easy and interesting reading, and you can quickly skip over bits that aren't relevant.
I am taking folate, but I also have to take Vit B12, calcium and iodine. The book contains all the recommended daily intakes for everything, and you can workout what you're lacking (good for me, because I can't take the pregnancy multivits)
It also suggests that you give up alcohol and caffeine three months before trying, and to cut out as much processed food as you can. it's a good read, and has been out for ages, so you should be able to get it in a library.
HTHs!
I was thinking of taking elevit what are peoples thoughts is it a good thing to take? Well now all I have to do is come to terms with the no coffee thing and alcohol haha.I am so looking forward to it its going to be an amazing journey for my husband and I.
