IUD Question? Dr couldn't find IUD

Hi everyone i am new to this site and i have a question today i went to get my IUD removed so i can try for a baby but turns out the dr couln't find the iud strings he then did an ultrasound in the office and could not see it either. i am kinda worried. could it have fallen out or what could be the problem i am worried about the whole situation please help

I would say that it has fallen out. The ultrasound should have been able to find it if it was there. Mine went awol too - Dr couldn't find the strings to remove it, but the scan showed that the entire thing had just moved into the uterus. He did say to me at the time that it could have just fallen out.

i doubt it would of fallen out as u would of noticed that. but i agree its probably just moved. im sure they can do more untrasound s etc to check where it is. I hope the one i have in is still in place so mine can get taken out properly in acouple of months
