It's actually the other way round, AF will arrive depending on your LP. Your LP should be consistent within one day ie if it's usually 14days you may find it sometimes is 13 or 15 days IYKWIM.
As for pregnancy symptoms, you can expect them any time from when implantation occurs & that can be between 7-10DPO. AF arriving is totally dependant on you, for eg my LP is 13 days, whereas the "norm" is 14 days. And yep if your LP is 14 days you should expect AF on CD39 (14 days after O).
Hi poppet I'm afraid I'm no expert on this but I have read that LP is not always 14 days, some are as short as under a week and others are 16 days or so. For those who do have a short LP there are some vitamins (or similar) you can take to lengthen it though.
Are you temping? I think that's a good indicator of when things are happening. I haven't started temping yet but will probably do so next cycle if I don't get my wish this one!!!
Good luck, I hope someone can shed some more light for you.
Everything Sarah said.... Pregnancy symptoms are different for everyone and can show up at anytime.... I had sore bbs but i also got sore bbs when af was coming so its hard to tell.. Hold in there and see what happens....
Usual LP's r anything between 10 & 16 days in length. If u O'ed on CD25, then AF should arrive on CD39, give or take a day.
My usual LP is 13 days, I can O anywhere between CD13 - 16 and AF will show up exactly 13 days after O has occured (lucky me) unless I am pg (fingercrossed).
Do u temp at all or chart?? If u have been temping (Fertility Friend is a great site for this), then u should already know how long ur LP is, if not, then I would get temping and after 3 cy's u will know what ur LP is (providing u r not pg in that time).
The answer to ur ?? is yes, u can have longer LP's, but there is usually a cause for this, like PCOS, it depends on the length, or of course, pg'y.
You can have an extra long LP - mine were usually about 13 days, but I had a couple that were over 20 days! The second one of these, I had all the crampings etc at 13dpo, then all the PMS went away, I couldn't walk... only for AF to arrive, symptomless, at 23 days. (Stupid body!)
If AF isn't here after the weekend it would be worth doing an HPT just in case - good luck to you!
Just remember though, that your body may not have read the instruction manuals.
My LP varies, sometimes considerably from cycle to cycle. I would always have around a 28 day cycle, but my LP would vary according to my O day. For example, on the occasions when I O'd at CD 10 or 11, I would have a 15, 16 or 17 day LP. When I O on CD 15 or later, my LP shortens accordingly.
Oh and I had NO pregnancy symptoms at all this cycle...not one. But I just had a feeling that I might be pregnant (call it women's intuition) so I purchased some HPTs and VOILA, I'm 6w4d today!
The Luteal Phase does not really vary, it is the Follicular Phase that varies. The Follicular Phase is the time from AF until O occurs and the Luteal Phase is from O until AF.
O'tion can be delayed for a number of reasons, therefore delaying AF, but once O'tion has occured, the LP is always usually the same length.
So unless u r 100% sure of the day that O has occured, u will never know what ur actual LP is...........KWIM!!
