Hello, I am new here and would just like to find out if there are any women out there who have a similar story to mine....
In a nutshell..........
I recently suffered a pulmonary embolism (blood clots in lungs) and was on warfarin for 6 months- and all is clear now. However after all the standard tests to determine why this occurred it was believed that it wasn't a genetic issuei.e no factor v leiden, or thrombolic issues. Well, i have since received a more thorough check by a biomedical doctor who discovered that i am positive for the mthfr gene- homozygous- has anybody here heard of this?
As it stands, when i want to start ttc i will need to be taking blood thinner injections daily, i am also on a host of B vitamins and folinic acid........
What makes it more complicated though is that my husband has also been tested and we have the exact same gene mutation. I will be seeing specialists as i will be considered high risk- just taking each day as it comes, but would love to hear from anyone who may know about this and have stories of success or advice?
(I apologise if there is a thread already addressing this)
Thanks in advance
