Exclamation Our TTC Story.. (will be updated)

    hi all,

the doctors that we've seen.. seem to think our story is very interesting, so i thought i might share, & see if anyone else has gone through something similar.

we stopped birth control about 2 ish months ago.

First period off the pill: 25th June - July 1st.

Had sex from: July 1st - July 24th. (not everyday, but once every 2-3)

Second period OR implantation bleed: July 25th - July 28th. (no clots, no pain)

Woke up & i felt different (bloated, slight cramp, not hungry) July 31st -Took 7 different brands of pregnancy tests, all positive.

Spotting: August 1st - August 2nd was light blood / brown spotting.

Blood test for HCG & blood type: August 2nd - We're 2-3 weeks along. My HCG level is 104.

Ultrasound: My doctor thinks it's probably too early, in most cases you need 1000 HCG to see anything, but she said we might be able to see the sac. EDIT Had our first ultrasound, as i said because we're so early she couldn't see anything, but it was worth a try!

Blood test #2: This Saturday at 8am i will have my second blood test, we will get results back at 8pm that night, IF my HCG level is higher than 104, then we haven't miscarried. IF my HCG level has dropped... then we have. EDIT Had blood test this morning.. now waiting for results EDIT My HCG levels dropped down to 30... so we did miscarry

we were so positive that it was going to stick. we feel so numb about it.. never felt like this before.

so i have been referred to a gynecologist to be examined (for anything left over) then we will start TTC after my first period.

thanks again to all your lovely words of support

    xxxx baby dust to all

Will be back when I'm on the computer to update, but I had a very similar thing happen with the u/s and blood tests etc. when I fell pregnant with DD, and she's a happy, healthy 18 month old now

Generally brown blood is old blood and a good thing, so try to keep that in mind hun!

Turns out i was able to get onto the computer quicker than i thought

When i found out i was pregnant, i was only 8DPO, (i was charting my temperatures) and DH & I had only DTD once around ovulation, so was a total fluke really. But like you, i KNEW i was pregnant, i just felt different, and could tell. I'd never felt that way before after Ovulating or at any other time during my cycle. So I went to the docs, did a test there, and they referred me to my local hospital (why? i dont know) to get the blood tests and stuff done. The first HCG test i got done showed my levels were only 84! and 2 days later they were up around 200 and something. i also had a scan done on the same day i had the first blood test (turns out it was roughly 4w5d or so), and they couldn't see anything either, not even a sac, they just said the endometrial lining was nice and thick to support a pregnancy, but thats all they could say, so they got me to come back at a later date (i think a week later?) to also confirm that it wasnt an ectopic pregnancy.
Went back a week later (roughly 6w3d), and there was a tiny little sac there, but no heartbeat yet, so we waited another week, and lo and behold there was a tiny little foetal pole with a heartbeat racing along at 144bpm and that was at a gestational age of roughly 7w3d or so?

So just because theres nothing there, doesn't mean that you're not pregnant, like you said, it might just be too early to see anything yet!

And like i said before, as a general rule of thumb, as long as its not bright red blood, generally you're in the clear, brown blood is old, so not likely to be anything to do with bubs, it could even be that if you and DH have DTD that could be it? or even just a breakthrough bleed?

WOW thank you so much for posting this hun... really gave us some extra hope loved reading it. sounds very similar to our situation (apart from my strange 3 day bleed)

i had no spotting yesterday or last night or this morning, but this afternoon after my ultrasound i'm spotting a tiny bit.. and of course i'm freaking out again!!

i never realised how important and scary the first 12 weeks are. i guess because i've never been pregnant before.

thanks for all your warm wishes

The spotting from today is just from the ultrasound, basically anything that can irritate the cervix can cause slight bleeding/spotting, but provided its brown it's ok
A Few people in my belly buddies group had the same thing and no problems keeping my fingers crossed for you, but it sounds good!! When's your next blood test results?

Wow, how keen are you? You must be super excited. 7 brands and didn't you say in your other thread that you used a whole 3 pack? so that's over 10 positive tests altogether. No wonder you have a good feeling about it.

oh wow.... i never realised that. i think at dinner i said to my fiance, hmm maybe it's cause she pushed so hard, but kindof said it to try and make me feel better... the thing is it's not brown it's red, and i would probably say it's a little more than spotting.. so nervous i can't even speak right properly!!

my blood test is 8am so 9 & a half hours away.. then we find out results 8pm the same night.. to see if my HCG levels are rising...

we are so positive, i slept all day today, i was crazy tired. my boobs are KILLING me, nipples are so sensitive i could scream if someone accidentally brushed passed lol. we took another 2 tests tonight and both were positive again..

it's just this random bleeding/spotting is really making us think negative. one moment we're super super positive, then the next we're really low about it all. really messes around with you. we really had no idea how hard it is.

thank you ladies so much again for all your kind words

will update as soon as we know anything

    just an update..

went for my second blood test this morning.. so we find out in less than 12 hours if my HCG level is rising.

am really scared though.. i'm bleeding a fair bit no pain.. but still blood, no more brown anymore.

will just have to wait and see.

Hang in there, hopefully everything will be ok.
I had bleeding in first trimester with all 3 of my pregnancies. I thought with DS1 that I'd lost the pregnancy, it was quite heavy and not brown blood. They did an internal u/s and he was still there. Second pregnancy, same thing happened. Third pregnancy, I think it went for 2 weeks. I finally got into an u/s in the second week, as it just wasn't going away and she was ok. Maybe I just got really lucky, three times (?) However, when I had a scan at 16 weeks (b/c my bloods came back with high risk down's), the bowel was bright white (ecogenic) and they said that this was due to either: down's, cystic fibrosis, a virus I'd had or the baby had ingested some blood and this is where it usually sits until they're born and it comes out as meconium. Just telling you this in case you experience something similar on a later u/sound. DD was born fine, so I'm pretty sure she ingested some of the blood.
Fingers crossed for you today, good luck

I'm so sorry to hear this Judging by your dates, you would have been about 5 weeks when you had what you thought was a new period or implant bleed. The hcg could well have been reducing since before then, then the bleed, and now the lowering levels. I've had two chemical pregnancies and they're really hard, the excitement just gets snatched away from you. Again, I'm really sorry.

thank you so much for your words xxx

i feel so numb right now.. i haven't even cried.. i'm just in shock, same with fiance, but he's trying to push it all aside and trying to forget.

we got told we have to wait 3 months before trying again.. is it really that long?

thanks again ladies.. i don't know where i would be without this forum, the help, and the wonderful support

also i'm getting referred to a gynecologist to be examined (for anything left behind...) hurts to say that, but anyway.. a few of my friends told me you're asleep when they do it, is that true?

For being examined, I don't think you'd be asleep at this early stage. Everything may have been passed by now If not, you'll need to have a d&c in which you might be put under. as for having to wait 3 months, don't worry, that's not necessary.
