Over a week of old blood spotting??

I have 4 children (all vaginal births) ranging in age from 10 1/2mths to 5yrs and have made it my duty to get to know my body during that time… But I am confused by it lately so here’s my question! I had 1 seemingly normal period from 7 may then started old blood spotting 8dys ago apparently without ovulating as bbt is still low. Is it likely to be just from low progesterone (still breastfeeding) or should I see Dr for repeat pap smear as last one 5mths ago had ‘possible slight abnormality’(had a very mild infection all cleared up very soon after!)?? At this point not too worried but 8days & counting of very scant old blood is unheard of for me. I wish it'd all just go back to something resembling normal

Seriously!? Nobody has any experience or ideas on something like this? Oh well seems to have all stopped yesterday anyway

Were you pregnant when you had your last Papsmear? If so I wouldnt take the results to heart, my OB told me there is no point while pregnant as all the hormones give unusual results.

If your still breastfeeding this might account for it, and I had similar while I was BF if it dosent settle down definatley call your Dr.

A pap smear is always good to have just to check anyway

Thanks ladies... After thinking itd stopped had tiny bit of pink stained cm yesterday. Honestly if my bbts werent so low Id be thinking pg again! Im figuring im just a little messed up coz of bf but dont remember anything like it before. Though I only ever had 0 1 & 2 af between pg so I hardly know whats 'normal' anymore! And no wasnt pg last pap smear just had apparently next to no good bacteria which was likely coz Id recently had to take antibiotics. Still was a little unnerving to not get the complete 'all clear' I was expecting. Not sure if that all makes sense, sorry if im just rambling too much

hmmm it does seem strange. i would hedge bets that it is a hormonal thing related to the not so regular cycles and BF etc. BUT, if it continues beyond the coming day it is best to get it checked out, I know from experience that prolonged slow bleeding can really irritate the cervix and cause a bit of scar tissue (ouchies!) build-up.

Sounds like the bleeding I had when pg with DS1. It was a blood clot in the uterus lining that came away (baby was fine, he's now 7!!). I wouldn't rule out pg and if it's not, I'd get it checked. After an abnormal smear I'd be really cautious about any changes. It's way better to be safe than sorry.
