    Unhappy In pain and frustrated

Forgive me - but I am extremely new to this. I've never encounted so much of a learning curve in my life.. and i am confident it is far from over.

For yesterday and today (more so today) I have been in pain in my lower abdomen. It's just like period pain with a mixture of wind pain (sorry if that's TMI!): but seriously - it's uncomfortable and painful! I am getting frustrated because I don't know what to do. And i'm getting angry that I have to deal with what feels like period pain twice in a cycle!

I have read on here that you can have ovulation pain - but I didn't think i ovulated if i'm on the Pill? But I don't know what else it could be? It's been about 8 days since the end of my period. So I think that's day 16 of my cycle? I think?

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Pearshaker,

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain!
When you are on CD16 it sure could be ovulation. ARe you taking the pill regularly? I mean same hour every day etc? I guess you can still ovulate when on the pill as various women do get pregnant whilst on the pill.
It can really be quite painfull (my O-pain is pretty painfull too) and can last 2-3 days in my experience. Why not get an OPK and see if it is possitive? That way you know if it is ovulation.

Good luck, hope the pain subsides soon!

    Thanks, believer.

I am still on the pill - i'm waiting to come off after AF in a fortnight or a bit - I have found when i have gone off the pill mid-cycle, it has thrown my body for six, and is just not worth it. I have been a bit tardy with the pill of late, sometimes an hour difference.

Hubby and I were doing the BD last night and this morning I woke to having the most incredible pain in my lower abdomen - really really strange and the kind that makes you crawl into a little ball. It sort of quietened down after about 30 mins - but my pelvic area feels sore like i've been kicked in the gut. or perhaps a good analogy would be when you have a really really bad muscle cramp, the pain was just like the aftermath of such a cramp.
I've been trying to study most of the afternoon and have found myself back on the couch with the laptop rather than at the desk, because i'm still so sore.

thansk again for the feedback, believer. I don't suppose anyone else has any other feedback??

    Hi Pearshaker,

I had the same pain after DTD the other night, it lasted for 3 days, started as curl-in-a-ball pain, then just a painful ache in between my hips. My who pelvic area was slightly swollen too, and I couldn't even lie on my belly.
There's a possibility that for me it could have been Ovulation, as my temps & chart are being very tardy and won't tell me if I've ovulated yet lol.

Anyway, technically, from the leaflets that I've read that come with the pill packets, the pill doesn't actually stop ovulation, it may delay it (if you have a short cycle) or shorten the time between AF finishing and O (if you have a long cycle) but the main thing that the pill does is change the lining of the uterus to make it hostile to the ovum & not an easy place to burrow into.

Also, the first 5 of my 7 pregnancies (6 are now angel babies) were joint pill & condom babies lol very scary when you're trying to be careful & NOT get pregnant and you do.
