    Question Partially Trying

    Hey everyone,
My partner and I have not really been trying to conceive, but not really trying to prevent it either for about a year now, roughly how long we have been in a serious relationship for also
In the first month of us "trying" I fell pregnant, but as we were both still in the unsure stage of starting a family we thought we weren't ready for it, as we were both silly enough to think it wouldn't happen anyway, regretfully I had a termination at little over 7 weeks
But now, almost a year later, we have decided that hey, if it happens, we will go with it, my question for you lovely mums, mums-to-be and those trying to conceive, is do you find it is/was easier to not try than it was to track your ovulation and most fertile days? or just go for it and hope for the best?

Also, I am new here and don't quite understand the lingo you use so I apologize in advance if I ask what something means

    hi & welcome mrslancer

when we were ttc (trying to conceive), i tracked my ovulation & fertile days - i actually started a couple of cycles before we really tried just to see what my body was doing post-the pill & how long my cycles were. i really wanted to give it the best shot so that worked for us - i was so impatient! but, the downside can be that it all becomes a bit focussed on making a baby rather than intimacy.

now we're not trying not to be PG, i'm not really tracking anything - although i am more aware now of what signs my body gives me that i'm fertile. that said, i'm starting to get impatient & feel the need to be a bit more precise!

i think it depends on the individual though & how keen you are to try & get things moving & also your particular circumstances. i was in my mid-30's when we ttc DS so i felt that if we were going to have trouble, i wanted to be able to tell a doctor that we'd been doing everything possible to make it happen - if that makes sense?

hope you enjoy the forums - there are some great support threads when you're ttc

ETA - this thread is a great start to get a handle on the lingo everyone uses!

    Thanks Sloane, for your input
I'm kind of trying to get into tracking everything but I am easily side tracked and forgetful So we are mostly just going to TTC every day possible
Thank you for the link to the lingo page too!! Loads of help there

    Hi and Welcome to BB,

I think after your termination last year you and your partner really need to be sure this iswhat you both want now. If it happens again straight away it might suprise you both,
not that age has anything to do with it, but a one year relationship too, Just be sure its what you BOTH really are ready for.

We found tracking ovulation to be a massive mood killer, it was better to just go with the flow.

    Hi Mum2Romone,
We were both upset about the termination but figured it for the best.
We have talked about it alot since and have decided that if it is to happen again, its a keeper for sure, We have been dating for about 3 years but got serious roughly a year ago when he proposed So we are feeling it's time to expand our little family from more than us and our furbaby

Yea, we don't really want to lose the fun in trying so I think more just going with it will be our best bet thanks
