    Prayers and crossed fingers, please

Today my SIL went for her first hospital visit in regards to assisted conception (I don't know the lingo, so bear with me) She went to check if she was ovulating (?)
They have been trying to get pg for about five years, no luck. He's a diabetic since he was 9 years old and they thought that it was just him, but she also can't get pg natuarly. I am not suppose to know that she was in hospital today. So I can't walk up to her and give her a hug and comfort and support her. I can't even talk to my DH, because he does not know also! (me and MIL talk a lot )
First I would like someone who has been throught this to maybe help me understand better. What do the dr's do and how is the prosedure. I suppose it depends on each individual, but just in general. Information is power, and if she maybe tell me, I will not sit there with my mouth full of pearly whites. Then I can ask the right questions and not say something insensitive.
Second, I belive in the power of prayer. So I am asking everyone to please keep her in your thoughts and in your prayers. She wants to be a mommy so bad. and I would like for her to be one. For her and my BIL sake.
    Thank you so very much!!!

Best wishes for your BIL and SIL.

Basically assisted conception varies from one person to another depending on where their weaknesses are in order to conceive.

Assisted Conception or AC, can just be her taking some regular medication each month to ensure she ovulates and that may lead to conception.

It could be worse, and then they may need IVF which is where they collect the males sperm, and collect the woman's eggs, fertilise them in a dish, and then implant them back into the mom. (its a bit more complicated than that, but that is the easy way of explaining)

I hope that helps a little bit
