pre-seed with no applicator?

I was just wondering.......
Can I still use pre-seed without applicators? Will it still be effective if I use it without them? I have used all my applicators, but still have over half a tube left. I find that the recommended dose is far too much and just makes a big old mess!
Anyone else feel the same?

i'm pretty sure we never used an applicator - i don't remember it coming with an applicator at all! i reckon just go for it!

Thanks, It just seems such a waste to buy another whole box just for the applicators! Well I'll just give it a go i guess
