    Pregnancy books?

    Hello everyone,

I'm new to posting messages on here and am not sure whether I'm posting in the correct area, but hubby and I are planning to TTC in mid December this year and I was wanting to start "preparing" myself and my body for conception/pregnancy.

Does anyone know of any good pregnancy books out here in Australia that they can recommend I read?

    Thanks heaps.

Two great pre-pregnancy ones that I read were:
Planning a Baby? by Sarah Brewer
Stay Fertile Longer by Mary Kittel and Debra Metzger

There's plenty of great info on this site too.

There's a good pre-pregnancy one called 'The natural way to better babies' - lots of info about herbal rememdies etc but even if that is not your thing - lots of good avice about diet etc when TTC.

I like 'Great Expectations' as a pregnancy book. It's a big thick one with week-by-week stuff and fully indexed info on everything from safe medications, pregnancy ailments to labour and delivery. Only downside is that it's an American book.

Good luck and hope your TTC journey is short!

When I was pregnant for the first time, I read Kaz Cooke's 'Up the Duff' - and while it's definitely good to supplement that book with other knowledge, like by reading books from the BB recommended reading list, it's a good and funny light read. As I've learned more about pregnancy, I have found bits and pieces of advice in there that I would disregard, but it's fun to see how big bub is each week, and laugh at the stories in there.

the best informative book that i read was
pregnancy conception and birth by dr miriam stoppard.

whilst there was a bit of strange information (makeup)in there, i found it had basically everything i could ever want to know.
