    Progesterone test

My partner and I have been TTC baby number 3 for 9 mths now, my doctor has just requested the progesterone test to see if i am Oing but im confused he said to have it done at 21 days but my cycle is normally 37 to 40 days long which means by day 21 i wouldnt even have Od yet, i should O about day 24 correct? so at what day during my cycle should I have the test?

any help would be great. TIA.

You want to get it done at 7dpo. When they say day 21 they assume O happens at CD14 (ie textbook 28 day cycle).

Are you tracking your cycles (ie opks/etc and/or temps)? If so, you'll have a good idea when you O'd and you can go 7 days after that.

If you're not tracking your cycle, I'd go 7 days before AF is due. It may be not completely accurate (eg if you have a short LP), but it will be much closer than CD21.

This could be a stupid question, I'm a bit of a newbie at this stuff, but...
    Have you tried charting/temping?
Charting your cervical fluid, temperature, cervical position could help you pin point when you ovulate.

That is assuming that you don't know/ are guessing your O day. If not please ignore me LOL

    look for signs

    Hi

I am in the same boat.

I was meant to have my CD21 Progesterone tomorrow. But I am ovulating tonight. I can feel the pinch in my left ovary right now.

Watch your CM change on the loo paper. Once you change from that clear EW, back to sticky, creamy or dry, then you know your fertile moments are done.

    Hope this helps.
