wannabub, I didn't have any luck with clomid (and had terrible side effects), but my BFF (who has PCOS) has her DD thanks to clomid! When I was taking it I generally only had one follicle (ie only produced one egg) so wasn't at much risk of multiples. Since my IF is "unexplained" and I O on my own I was only on 50mg. If you have PCOS you're more likely to produce multiple follicles which is why the Drs normally start you on a low dose and gradually increase it if it doesn't work first go...
kattykitty, I'd recommend some way of monitoring when/if you O'd (other than his blood test - it will tell him if you O'd). I recorded BBT's when I was on clomid to see when/if I O'd, but you could also use OPK's. Just keep in mind the temperatures can be a bit screwy when you're actually taking teh clomid, but you can usually still clearly see the temperature shift to indicate O. Normally you will O 5-10 days after the last tablet, but some women O as early as 4 days after and some O much, much later. And for some it just doesn't work (usually just means a higher dose is required). For my 3 cycles I O'd 7, 11 and 7 days after the last tablet (day 14, 18 and 14 of my cycles), respectively. The blood test he said to come back for really should be done at 7dpo (to test progesterone levels). It sounds to me like he's assuming you'll have a textbook cycle. If you stick with his plan I'd just recommend that you have sex more often than just the one day you mentioned. If it were me, I'd start on that day and keep it up every second day for about a week.
