Return of period after birth

My questions is to do with the return of my period after giving birth.
I gave birth to our first child 5 & half weeks ago. He lived for two days and then died due to complication in delivery. I ovulated two weeks ago now, and I am curious on when you ovulate for the first time after birth does this automatically mean that your period returns also? My period is due in the next day or two, if i count 14 days from ovulation.

Sorry to hear of your loss

Sometimes it takes a while for your body to return to 'normal' after a birth. Everyone is different so just wait and see what happens but it sounds like it might return soon.
