    Successful BD timing?

Hi, I am interested in hearing about people's successful BD timing. FF says do it every day, other people say every other day, still others I have heard say every 3 days.

What has worked for you? How often did you and DH/DP DTD on your successful cycle?

I believe in part that depends on the quantity of quality sperm from DP. If that is not a prob then I believe (speaking from experience) you should be able to BD every day of your possible fertile week and still become PG. If quantity of quality sperm is a bit low or in question you might want to wait up to a week to increase (so I have heard from medical sources). On mine and DW's last attempt, I had been begging for a PG and the night before Ovulation she was a wee bit happy from happy drink and decided what the heck. So I told her since it was so close and she gave in she should let me make the best of it and we actually try just for that month so we BD the next two nights (in all the day before, day of and day after ovulation). We were successful but had a MC. The next month we BD all but 1 day of the possible fertile week and made sure we duplicated the day before, day of and day after ovulation and again were successful and as a result have little Corban.

Not sure if any of my ramblings help but there you go.

Sounds like you've had heaps of success Dustmite!

From memory we BDd every night while I was fertile to get pg with DS, with DD we BDd a few days before O was due - got pg first try. My last pg we weren't even trying, and don't even know when we conceived. That ended in a m/c though.

DH & I are older so I guess our chances are lower at any time. But I don't think there is an issue with sperm quality, considering.

Hi JazMum, nice to "see" you, I look in on you guys every so often to see how you're going. DH is 40 and I just turned 41.

    Lindsay, thanks.

I guess I am thinking about it all because last cycle DH & I had all our bases covered, yet AF still came, even though realistically I know that it is more than a matter of BDing at the right time.

DP (now XP) was not all that excited about me anymore and we only DTD twice the month i fell pregnant. 2 days in a row, 14 and 15. I actually thought i'd O'd on day 10..

hi sally - you're still a young chookie too!! The month we got our bfp i had stopped temping. I was finding i was getting stressed about taking my temp at the same time each morning - and getting up to my girls throughout the night meant i was constantly worrying about whether i'd had enough sleep each time. I did keep up with the opk's though.

    Hi Sally

DH and I BD'd every night during the fertile phase for three months and never got the BFP then on the fourth month, we only BD'd every second night and viola! Got the BFP. So, I'm a big believer in every other night.
