    Temping

how do you guys take your temps

do you do under the arm, or orally

i am thinking about starting this way also with opks, but example im due in a week for period and my temp under arm is 35.7, although i had gotten out of bed and peed, then orally was 36.6

what is the best way, ohh im using a normal thermometer to, like a beep one that i use for under arms for kids with temps etc

any advice be great thanks so i can do it the right way

Definitely not under the arm, it's way too inaccurate. Either orally or vaginally is best. Orally is most common. For charting, you'll need a two decimal thermometer, as one decimal place is again not accurate enough for charting. You can get a two decimal thermometer at the chemist Hope that helps.

Yup, orally. And do it when you first wake up, before you talk or get out of bed. That way you get close to your resting temp.

2 decimal places she meant, like it will say 36.27 rather than 36.3. I used a simple one though that only had one decimal place and I found it worked well enough for charting. You're looking for the overall pattern rather than exact temperatures. Have you checked out fertility friend? It's a great website for charting.

have to add im also prolly not a very fertle person

i hvae a 8yr old turning 9 this year, wasnt really planned, my youngest one we wanted alot sooner but wasnt happening, i went on depo shot when my now almost 9yr old was 6 months old, stuffed with me majorly took about 1yr after 1 shot for periods to return, then we kept trying no success, well when i say keep trying we never used protection never have, but anyways after years of it i gave up, went on diet shakes lost 21kgs then felt sick while on them then it hit me and i took a test found out was pregnant. so now she almost 2 we want to try again, we have still not been using condoms this whole time but in saying that we dont dtd very much lol cause i didnt want to or not in the mood lol, poor hubby

im 29 he is 31. we have been togehter 15yrs

anyways so this month i did lots of dtd when ff said i should, so will see how we go with charting properly this time to make sure im oving properly like i should be, i would have tought with a pretty good period cycle i would be, but never know i guess

Yep, this. Or you can do it vaginally, which is meant to be the most accurate, but it has too much of an ick factor for my liking. The key is to do it the same way each day (with the same thermometer) and to take your temp on waking before you do anything! Fertility Friend's charting course will teach you all of this - if youhaven't already done it, I highly recommend it.

As for the 2 decimal place thing, my first BBT thermometer was only 1 decimal place and worked just fine.

Traylee- you might find that you are ovulating at a different time to when ff says. I had a 28 day cycle and when I started temping I found out that I was Oing on day 17, not 14 like ff said. Once I added temps to ff the charts made a lot more sense and we were dding on the right days. If I'd been going by day 14 we would have missed it every month. Anyway, once I started temping it took 4 months and I was UTD!!

thanks yea, i felt my normal o pain around same time it said to, i get really bad cramps so will see anyways
but i will def keep check incase its something else, as i didnt get any ewcm really, sometimes i do sometimes i dont get any out that i notice

tmi but atm cp is up high and soft round it, but i dont even no if i check that right, as someone said you push towards back and i do and far up as i can go, and yea well barely reachable, but in saying that im not due till sat ish so it will drop i would assume

also this may sound silly, but when reaching in there, at the front part of your vagina when you first go to reach in, what is that?? you would think i would no being a female, but i always thought that was my cervix bit cause its like just at start as you put fingers in there like right at start, but i am assuming its not cervix as your cervix is up the back when you put your finger in far as you can go, is that correct????
