We had a boy! So, don't do what I did if you want a girl- that's the only lesson I can pass on!
He is gorgeous and we adore him. My DD was at the birth. She is smitten. I didn't check the sex until about 10 mins after the birth. We just gazed at our bub and fell in love. It didn't matter then whether girl or boy. Our bub was here, alive and healthy and that's all that matters.

I think DH and I have 'forgotten' how to make girls!

LOL Ash! It seems that while you and I are good at birth, we are both no good at gender swaying.

Hi everyone! Thought I would pop my head in here for some advice. Dh and I are due to ttc around mid year and after two boys we would dearly love a little girl. We want to give ourselves the best chance so we are going to gender sway. I briefly looked into it when ttc ds2 but in the end we just left it to fate. So what do we do for a girl? What are some good resources and where can I find some solid information about it? I know it's not an exact science but can't hurt to try!

    Very true!

Hi minimatron, my DD is 8. It was such a beautiful, positive experience for her. And, no, I haven't heard of the book you mention.

Hi Beautitude, there is a lot info in this thread - references to relevant web sites, etc.

Well, my other sister found out yesterday that she is having a ... Girl! So that's all girls in our family for 2012.

We'll have to wait a couple more years to see if the boy drought can be broken in our family. In the meantime, our girls are going to have so much fun together!

So both your sisters are having girls this year? That will be lovely, being so close in age to DD2.

Yep, Ash, all three of us will have girls born this year (plus my DD1 from 2006 vintage ). It will be nice for them growing up. I have three girl cousins all within two years of me and it's great to keep a close extended family bond. Now we visit to let our own girls be together!

Oh, Jen, I'm jealous on your girls' behalf! I always wanted girl cousins and never had any!

Beautitude - get your DH on a bike. All of our cycling friends have girls, I've never found anything to confirm it as anything better than an urban legend, but DH rode 200km the weekend our little girl was conceived.

Getting on a bike sounds like a good option. Or he could take up smoking! My DH was a smoker when we conceived our DD. Since quitting, we have had 3 sons.

Apparently radiographers are more likely to have girls.

Jen, my dad and his brother have 8 children between them - 7 girls and only 1 boy! My mum is one of 4 girls. Maybe I am part of the generation to 'even' it out!

I think the bike theory is a good one. I read that gender swaying for a girl can be helped if the man wears tight underwear or has a super hot bath to kill off a few of the weak sperm before sex. The weak sex are male sperm, the strong long living sperm are girls So makes sense radiographers have girls too... guess my H's cushy desk job explains our boys
