a) get the H1N1 vaccination now while unpregnant
b) wait until I am definately preggers , or
c) not get vaccination at all
I have hardly ever had the regular flu (touch wood) and not entirely comfortable with the thought of getting vaccinations whilst pregnant. So the reccommendation from Health Department that pregnant women get vaccinated has left me indecisive! Interested in finding out what anyone else thinks about this topic.
I would personally get vaccinated. I have and had no side effects at all. Next year it will automatically be in the flu vaccination.
Whether you get the flu or not they are saying that it is best to be vaccinated especially pregnant women, and people with compromised health as the swine flu has the potential to have devasting effects for these people.
I hate having anything when pregnant so having it before seems a good option.
I hear you jilly, but it wasn't long ago "they" were saying it wasn't safe in pregnancy and now apparently it is.
It's the kind of thing everyone needs to research for themselves to get to the right conclusion.
Pumkin, I'm TTC and had the H1N1 vaccination the other day. I've been the sickest I've ever been in the last 12 months as I've been picking up EVERYTHING my daughter is bringing home from daycare. So I didn't want to chance getting H1N1, especially if I were pregnant.
Oh, and I had absolutely NO side effects from the vaccination. So I'm happy with my decision.
