    TTC- my cycle question

    Ok..

My husband and I have been ttc for 4 months.

My cycle is usually 28 days has been for as long as I can remember (at least I think it was I have never really paid that much attention to it).

Last month my period was a week late - at which I got very excited (could not help myself) then af showed up (of course after I had tested and got a BFN).

Any way my question is this my period is again late - 2 days (if I am on a 28 days cycle) - I have just tested and got a BFN. So is my cycle 28 days or 34?

I have several symtoms, sore bobbies, slight pain in my lower tummy, feeling sick (although I do not know if I am creating these in my head as I am looking too hard) I also have this really strange metalic taste in my mouth I have had it for about 3 days now and can not get rid of it. However if all these "symptoms" are real should I not have gotten a positive?

Sorry - so long just had to get it out as I do not have anyone to talk to

I used a new test - the clear blue digital

Leave it a few more days and test again. If you haven't got your AF after a week and still feel like you do but are still testing negative go see your doctor for a BT.

Your cycle can change throughout your life time though so it could just be that you are now moving in to a phase of longer cycles. I'm now experiencing shorter ones, although when I was younger I always had 28 day ones.

I don't kno if this is just for the blood tests, but I've heard that the HCG has to be a certain level before you are actually considered pregnant. SO some tests might not show a positive because the levels are too low. I agree with satya, probably best to wait a few days, see if AF shows, and if not try again

My cycles change a bit with stress, so you could be stressing about TTC, which may throw your cycles out of whack.

    HI Kylie

It is perfectly normal for cycle length to vary from month to month - we don't all work like clockwork. I have read that a variation of about 5 days is perfectly normal - so your kinda like that!

The most variable part of the cycle is the first phase, the follicular phase - all sorts of things can throw this out of whack! Like stress!

Me, I always look for signs of O and then I know that AF is going to turn up about 14 days after that! SO if you were O'ing around day 20 to 21 AF would still not be late.

I'd take the cycle length as the last cycle and test after 34 days to get a more accurate result.

I hope you get the BFP!
