TTC when in about to/in premature menopause

Hi,

Just wondering for those who either where trying to conceive with diminishing ovarian reserve or those who are in or very soon going into early menopause what was the way forward? Did your specialist try fertility drugs (clomid) or straight to IUI or IVF? Were you successful in falling pregnant?

I know I don't have alot of time or alot of eggs, but does it mean they are also not good quality, so would this put me at higher risk of miscarriage and also birth defects - eg, thinking that women who are older have all the risks go up.

Hey I am not sure if this is of any help but I was told at age 30 that I have a very low ovarian reserve for my age (my AMH level was 6 (should have come back at a 17 or thereabouts for my age). I had it rechecked last year and it had dropped to 5 (after just a year and a pregnancy).

I found out about my low ovarian reserve in March of 2012 and conceived my 2nd child that month naturally. I tried for 5 cycles naturally before starting Clomid and after 2 cycles on Clomid I fell pregnant with baby no 3 (15 weeks pregnant tomorrow).

I'm certainly not in stages of menopause yet but my FS did say that I would most likely go through menopause in my early to mid forties and well before other women my age. So it's possible to get pregnant naturally but also with the help of Clomid when you have a low ovarian reserve.

Thanks, I needed clomid to ovulate due to PCOS with my 2 kids so hopefully that will do the trick again!
