Long story short, I have PCOS. Been TTC #2 since Feb 2010. Lost almost 45 kilos since March and got regular cycles back in May. Had my first O ultrasound on day 14 (yesterday) and it showed that Im still suffering from bad PCOS and NO follicles look even close to big enough to O. Biggest one from memory was about 0.0772mm and that was on my right side (from where I have been feeling what I think is O pain). But it still doesnt look positive at all that I will be ovuating this month (damn PCOS grrr). But, i have another ultrasound in the morning (day 16) to see if anything is looking up. They dont think it will. So my question is, for those of you who have had these ultrasounds, has it ever looked not promising at all and you have fallen pregnant or you went back 2 days later and by some miracle there was a nice juicy ready follicle.
Im thinking that even if the said follicle has grown, its too late as I only seem to be having 27-28 day cycles. Ive been taking a bug range of natural herbs this month in a hope I wont need to start clomid, but I dont think anything is really on my side with this!
Hope that made sense
ETA - to make it even more confusing, I had a +OPK on day 13 but all neg since. That could just be my PCOS acting up though, i guess.

I had an internal at CD10, saw a follie just under 1mm, I had an abnormally thin lining. Went on to ovulate CD14, conceived that cycle. Sorry to hear how difficult this has been for you hang in there!
I don't have PCOS but did the whole ultrasound & tracking ovulation whilst on clomid, later FSH and later again IVF. Speaking from a non-PCOS perspective there is usually a predictable growth pattern. I remember my FS knowing when to get me back in for another ultrasound and being able to tell when the follicle was ready for O - indicating some predictablity. If I was close-ish and she wasn't sure she sent me for a BT and they could tell more from that.
When I was on FSH for the purpose of IVF I did have some surprise follicles which the FS didn't predict were going to be there. I remember having about 11 eggs ready and then when I came back a few days later I had 15, so perhaps there can be some surprises but usually it is predictable. Interestingly enough I only had 11 eggs fertilise so I will never know if the late arrivals were able to be fertilised or not.
Wishing you the best of luck. I know it's not easy.
