    Question Undies Vs. Boxers

    I have a question.

I was talking to my sister about when we were planning on trying for number 2 and how we were going to attempt the "girl" theory. If we get a boy we would still love him and be just as happy, but thought it couldnt hurt giving it a go. She then told me that she did the "girl" theory after having 2 boys and got a girl! (WOO!)
So she has lent me a book she has on what you should do to get a girl.

One thing it says is that for a girl (apart from all the timing etc) is the man should wear tight fitting undies or jock strap, by day only, for 5 days during or after the period. And for a boy that the man should wear boxer shorts.

Just curious if this is true and has control over the sex count? And if it has worked for anyone doing this?

DH normally wears boxers and will wear undies when we attempt number 2 as advised.

    TIA!

DH wears boxers and we have a boy... yay! Might force him into pants for #3 as I'd like 2 boys and a girl.

I'd really like to conceive a girl first (but in reality any baby will do!). DH wears undies so we'll see how it goes....

I've heard that anything that creates a less than ideal environment for increases the likelihood of a girl - girl sperm are more hardy and can survive. So this includes the warmer environment of undies, strenuous exercise and smoking (not that smoking is recommended obviously).

but does this mean day AND night? So if we want to have a girl the first time, DF should wear his undies all day AND all night? he wears undies during the day and loose cotton boxers at night..... is that the right way to get a girl???? LOL

Well, my ex (the father of my first 4) wore undies all the time and we conceived two girls first, then did family planning to get our boy, then the next unexpected bub was a boy too....so go figure???
When we planned for the boy there was certain times of my cycle that we were allowed to DTD etc, everyone thought we were crazy, but it did work and I would recommend anyone wanted a particular gender to seek help from a family planning centre, worked for us, so see what happens.

DH only ever wear jocks during the day and is nuddie at night and we have a boy, two girls and this one is a boy, so that theory is out the window for us. I think timing worked better for us - DS1 was a surprise so we must have right on time to get him, with the girls we DTD when there was EWCM (which I've worked out I get 2 days before O) and for this one we DTD when I was crampy and it seemed to have worked for us.

No, the book says for the guy to wear undies for 5 days, BY DAY ONLY, during or after the period. So during the night boxers or nothing.. and not to do it any longer than 5 days. If it doesnt work for the first 2 months then stop doing the undies thing. So yeh what hes doing is right.
But you also have to do the timing thing to, which is DTD every second night up until 5 days before O. If not pregnant that month, creep it up a day each month (ie.. 4 days before O, then 3, then 2 etc).
This is what my sister did after 2 boys and got a girl, so it worked for her!

My DP wears boxers and nothing at night.... I am afraid this is one I just don't believe! Also don't put too much faith in the timing method either... Lots of research has been done to debunk it.

My Dh wears boxers or trunks and we have one of each.

Re the timing, we DTD more often when we conceived DS. (I believe there is evidence for frequent BD=boy). For DD, we DTD less often, and a couple of days before O. The XX sperm swim more slowly and are longer lived.

In reality it's 50/50 either way isn't it.

DP wears undies during the day nothing at night and we have a DD and DS. My SIL was talking to me about this at chrissy she has two boys and would like a girl so is going to get my brother to start wearing undies as he will only wear boxes. Good question by the way.
