    Vesectomy Reversal

    Hi,

My partner and I are looking at him getting a vesectomy reversal. He has his vasectomy 8yrs ago. He is alot older than me and were not to sure what the vasectomy reversal chances are. We have booked in an appointment with Dr Malone in brisbane. Has anyone used him or have any suggestions on someone good to see. The only problem is we can only travel to Brisbane or Toowoomba. We have been advised it will cost $4400 but we can claim some back from medicare and our private health. We're egar to start a family and are keen for the reversal to conceive naturally.

    Thanks Rach

    Hi!
my dh got a reversal done 2 years ago. not by your dr tho. ours cost about 3800 i think. It had been about 5 years since he got the snip. unfortuatly ours didnt work, the dr said its the first one he had done that hadnt. There is just too much scar tissue. i personally think it did work to start off but over a year or so it stopped because of the buildup.
Fortuantly for us ivf is still an option and they are able to get more than enough swimmers easily from dh with a giant needle =)

good luck! Really hope it works for you!!!

Hi hun. No advice about the doc sorry! Just wanted to share my story...DF had a vas. reversal done a while ago and it was about 8 or 9 years when he had a snip. He went to see an urologist who was highly recommended (get a good one hun) and he basically advised us to go through IVF as the chances of a successful reversal were pretty low after that long. He said 2 or 3 years was OK. Plus it would cost about $4000. I was stubborn and wanted to have the reversal done on DF so we could have a baby naturally. The reversal did not work even though the previous surgeon left enough length of the tubes to have them re connected. Even though the urologist said the op. went well, the sperm count after 6 months came back at 0. We did IVF in the end and they were able to retrive anough live sperm from DF. GL hun!

thanks everyone. for the advice and I hope it works, i guess we will wait and see what the urologist says when we visit on the 25th of this month (July) i hope it all goes well and there is a very good chance. Im hoping. I guess we will just have to wait and see. But all your advice is greatly appreciated. I will be sure to let you know what the urologist has to say when we visit. I'm trying to be hopefull but its all a waiting game i guess.

    THANK you again x
