I have heard in the past of some suggestions but was not really interested at the time but now am happy to try anything! DH has a good count its just that some are not the right shape/size etc so anything to help his little men would be great.
I've heard zinc is good.. but haven't really looked into it. And avoiding alcohol & caffeine etc. My DH was just on a men's multi, and I made him go off alcohol & caffeine. He thought it was just terrible... but OMG - I have been off these things for about 2 years now! LOL.
And as Liz says, cut out the grog and the caffeine. I think I read somewhere that alcohol and caffeine have a dehydrating effect of semen, which, in turn, affects motility and form and shape of the sperm........so make sure your DH is aware of the need to really hydrate himself?
I put DH on Blackmore's Men's Performance Multi as it had a zinc content in it that I researched at the time (appropriate amount) as well as something else geared towards boosting the swimmers. Sorry I've thrown the bottle out now (the vitamins did their job and DH is now overseas) but you could probably read about the product on the Blackmore's website.
HTH.
Good luck on your TTC journey - hope your efforts pay off really soon!
Our FS wanted my DP on Zinc and folate. He had a good count as well, but they were abnormal in someway...I think he was on the folate for a couple of mths when i got pg.
When I went to the health food store to get our supplements the lady there said that her husband just took Elevit LOL! No harm in it at all if you want to go that way.
Just got back from supermarket and bought DH the Cenovis brand Mens Multi Vitamin and it contains both Zinc and Folic Acid so both covered. Now i just have to make sure he remembers to take it. Thanks again for all your help.
The pack says to take it with the morning meal. Would it make a difference if he took it at dinner? That would be a great way of making sure he took it.
I seem to remember that Selenium and Saw Palmetto are supposed to be good too - I remember an online friend I met through the ONNA newsgroup years ago (that was a newsgroup for long-term ttc) put her Dh on them because of his motility - it worked.
