    Wanting to conceive whilst breastfeeding

    hey ladies!
I was hoping someone could help me?
I have PCOS, am breastfeeding my 10 month old.. only twice maybe 3 times a day.. (going about 13 hours a night without breastfeeding) And still dont have AF!
Was wondering If any of you ladies have been put on progesterone to bring on af whilst breastfeeding? and If i worked? I am currently on my 3rd day 1 10mg twice a day. Also If the progesteron was to bring on a period, could i fall pregnant befor AF arrived?
    Thankyou girls!

    Hi Teddy,

not quite an answer to your questions, but....
I got my AF almost 11 months after my daughter was born. I do not have PCOS and my cycles are quite regular. At that point I was nursing only before her bedtime, maybe once more during the day. It can take a while for AF to return. A friend of mine had exactly the same experience, AF returned 11 months after the birth, so maybe yours is just around the corner too!
You can certainly get pregnant before AF arrives, but usually, your fertility returns gradually, not all at once. The first cycle you may not ovulate. Then the next one, you may ovulate but the luteal phase is too short -- this actually happened to me. I was using OPKs, so I know when I ovulated and my LP was only 9 days, normally it is 14. If you are taking progesterone, then perhaps your body will go back to the hormonal balance faster. But do not get discouraged if you will not fall pregnant your first cycle, it may just mean your body is not back to its full operation yet.
