Not that im planning on having another baby anytime soon! lol Just a random question (Also im not sure if this was the right place to post this but couldnt find somewhere it fit ?)
i was wondering what the likelihood of twins were if i were to have a baby, if dp's mum's sisters were twins( their is also a few others on dp's mums side of the family with twins) aswell as one on his dads side.
I have one set of twins in my family my grandmas sister..
totally random i know, i just wondered as dp have been talking about more kids in a few years obviously and he mentioned wanting twins(much to my shock ykwim ) i dont think id be verry good with twins lol
LMAO Ammaki! thanks hun wont be happening anytime soon(touchwood)
but i think i could maby warm up to the idea if it was to happen lol
soo exciting tho can't wait to have another one..or two
Fraternal twins run in families on the female side. It's to do with the ability of the woman's body to release two (or more) eggs at ovulation. Identical twins are just random, nature's pot luck
Fraternal twins are also a lot more likely to do with age as the body nears menopause it will often release 2 one months and none the next. That said I know a 35yr old with fraternal triplets and a 20yr old with fraternal triplets so...
... strangely enough there have been twins almost every second generation on my Mum's side (my Mum was a twin) ... my Mum was always convinced one of us three DD's would have twins but NOPE
My dh is a twin, apparently the thing that can cause women to release 2 egg at a time gets passed down from fathers, so by that him having family history doesnt make it more likely that you guys would have twins but if you had a daughter the gene might be passed to her from your dp and she might have twins
There are twins on both my mum and dad's side of the family and also on Dp's mums side of the family, we were so freaked that Z was going to be 1 of 2 rather than just her... my 12wk scan was the biggest relief.
I agree though, you guys would have VERY attractive kidlets... G is just gorgeous aswell, must be all your genes that do the work!
