Hey Girls,
This might sound like a really dumb question BUT
What is a chemical pregnancy? are you pregnant or not?
Sorry this really confuses me
Thanks
Kristie
It is confusing and I personally don't like the term.
A chemical pregnancy refers to a conception that the cells don't divide properly and the pregnancy fizzles out. Usually this happens very early before 6 weeks.
It is termed chemical as you wouldn't know you were pregnant except for the"chemical" response of the preg test.
Many chemical pregnancies are marked as late periods that were heavier than usual...
No. A pregnancy will not produce hcg until it implants. Usually chemical pregnancies have very low levels of hcg and end very soon after implantation occurs - thus they are often characterised by a "late period" that may be heavier than usual.
