What is considered "irregular" when it comes to your AF cycles?
Hi,
We're currently TTC#2 since April this year and our DD took 8mths to conceive. I was hoping it would be a bit faster this time around but it doesn't seem to be that way I know 8mths isn't a long time compared to other people but considering DH and I are 'apparently' (as far as we know...) a healthy couple with no fertility issues that we know of..... we thought it would happen faster.
Anyway, I am looking at my cycles and wanting to know something. Ever since going off the pill (14mths before falling pg with DD) my cycles have ranged from anywhere between 28days and 34 days in length. Even 18mths after having DD, my cycles are still anywhere between 28 and 34 days. On average, about 30 days. So I never really know when exactly my AF is due!
I had hoped by now that my cycles would be very predictable given that i've been off BCP's for over 2 yrs now.
Do you think this is of a concern enough to see a GP about it to get some tests done? I am wondering if I should get some blood tests done to check for PCOS? It seems so common here on BB and would it hurt to rule that out?
I just would hate to be ttc month after month, and then to find out I did have pcos and could have done something about it earlier.
Anyway, anyone's thoughts or advice would be great. Thank you. We would absolutely love to give our DD a sibling and it breaks my heart that it is taking month after month of waiting again
If you're concerned and not feeling comfortable, then I would suggest going to see your GP.
Since coming of the BCP in March last year, my cycles have been anywhere from 28 days to 35 days, with a couple of 50 day cycles thrown in for good measure. My O day always changes, cycle to cycles, as does my LP.
When I went to my GP, I may have told a little fib about how long we had been trying, but I needed to start the ball rolling and needed to get some answers...
I hope your GP helps you out and you get some positive news soon

babe. Elocin has given really great advice. I came off the bcp january last year, and ttc since feb last year, and since then my cycles have been all over, from 26 days to 87 and everything in between. Sometimes I O, most of the time I don't. My LP has been 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10 days Like Elocin said, if you're feeling uneasy about something, it can't hurt to have things checked out. Good luck.
Thanks girls. I have made an appointment to see a GP next week.... get the ball rolling..... hoping I fall pregnant in the meantime *sigh* TTC sucks. I just need to get some bloods done just to put my mind at ease I guess as I'm really feeling down about it all.....
sorry to see you girls struggling so much for that BFP also.... xx
