Question What's going on? My cycles are out of whack...

Firstly, NO, we are not yet actively TTC!!
But I am officially (only) 4 days late for AF. I know to some that's not alot. but for me, it is. My period is never late unless I have been pg, which according to 2 hpt's I am not. I don't feel like I am either. But I also don't feel at all premenstral. I usually get very clear signs of AF coming back ache, tummy ache, tummy bloating, pimply skin on my face, moodyness and general fatigue/tiredness and muscle aches and pains (yes I have a great time with AF!).

The past few cycles (maybe 5 or so) have been a few days shorter than usual, around 26-7 days. This month I noticed that I only had ewcm for one day, when usually it's about 4ish days that I have it. My cycles are usually 28-9 days ON-THE-DOT! This month, 29 days was Monday just gone. And here we are Friday, and still no signs of her....its really unusal for me.

DH and I are not actually TTC yet, though this month we weren't being really terribly careful either, just going by my cycle and using condoms on the days I thought we should, plus you need to have sex to get pg anyway, lol! But with my cycle so out of whack, I can't guarentee that the days I am thinking I'm probably ovulating (usually day 14-5) I might not be and might be fertile earlier or later, kwim? Although a pg isn't unwanted now and we will be ttc in a few months, it's not ideal timing for us at the mo, but I don't want to go on the pill as I'm still bfing and the mini pill is too temperemental with exact timing of when to take it.

So my questions are, why would my cycle be going nutty now? I got AF back when DS was about 14wks old and as soon as I got it back it was back to normal 28 day cycles. Just the past 5ish months they have been too short and this months I think for the first time ever it is 4/5 days late. What might be causing this? I have had no big changes in my life, in any way. No weightloss/new exercise regime/stressors....DS is feeding anywhere from 2-5 times a day as he has for about 4 months now.

I've never had trouble with my cycles before and I'm worried it might make ttc in the next few months difficult. What might cause it? And what can I do about it to get my body ready for when we are ttc?

not sure hun. Maybe your cycle is still adjusting after giving birth, maybe you've skipped an O, maybe you are pregos, and its not showing up on the HPT - my suggestion is ask the doctor for a BT to make sure you are definitely not pregnant.

    I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful

not sure hun, maybe see a Dr & let them know that you're getting negative tests & see if he has any suggestions as to what it could be? He could run some tests of his own?

    Hope you get an answer

Thanks girls, I had thought to go to the doc, if AF doesn't turn up by monday.
I have been thinking and I probably have been more stressed than usual the past few weeks. Though I wouldn't think it would be enoughto make my cycles so out of whack. I wouldn't think it would be bfing, DS is 18mths old now and has been having usually 2-3, (but up to 5) feeds a day since he was about 14mths. That hasn't changed.
Does anyone know if there is anything that I could take (natural supplements) that would help me with regulating my cycles? Keeping in mind I am still breastfeeding DS.
