It's always best to consult a practioner when using vitex. In saying that, there is conflicting information regarding taking it. I consulted my tradtional Chinese herbalist and he said to take it til pregnancy. Whilst the information I read about it suggested taking it from the end of af until ovulation. Vitex helped lengthen my luteal phase. For more information check out YouTube, practioners are on there explaining how it works and how and when to take it.

Hth, all the best in your ttc journey.

I don't know anything about vitex and miscarriage, but I was taking it for awhile when my naturopath recommended it. Her advice to me was to start it at the beginning of a new cycle and continually take it. If I fell pregnant I was to continue to take it for the first trimester. If I didn't fall then to continue taking it. When she told me to stop taking it (because she didn't think it was helping and I was going to start clomid) I was to finish on the last day of my cycle.

I must say that after taking vitex, a few other natural medications and increasing my green veg (I'm vego) my luteal phase also lengthened. It took a few cycles though. I can't say if it was a one off (but it was my first 12 day luteal phase in the 7 months I'd been tracking my cycle. the other cycles I had consistely 9 days) or not because after that I started on prescribed medications.

    Good luck

It's been a long time since I took it so can't remember where I found my info and I lost bookmarks when PC crashed, but after reading a lot about it I came to the conclusion to take it for the first part of my cycle and stop once I knew I'd o'd due to it not being recommended during PG.

My cycles regulated to 27 - 28 days from 35 - 39 after a couple of cycles and C was conceived after 3 (I think, brain is fuzzy lol).
