I conceived 3 times last year without medical intervention even though my gyno told me I needed IVF (due to age factors) and while I was on a waiting list for a fibroid resection. The first two ended in early miscarriages at around the 5 week mark. Devastating but unfortunately very common over 40. I think it's something like a 50% m/c risk over 40.
The last pregnancy was successful and my little man was born just over 3 weeks ago at one month past my 42nd birthday. He is absolutely perfect which was a huge relief as we'd been given a 1/37 risk of downs syndrome (amnio showed no abnormalities).
I had what I would consider an easy pregnancy symptomwise, no morning sickness at all, and just minor things like fluid in my feet, bleeding gums & minor aches and pains throughout. I even worked up to 3 weeks before my due date (a week and a half before I had him). The labour was long and not exactly easy but I don't know if that was age related.
I wish you the best of luck. Oh, and by the way, I had a history of infertility when I was younger so it appears I became more fertile as I got older.
