after DD1 it was 9 months
DD2 was 6 months and she fed around the clock so go figure!
Just curious - Dh an I were talking about whether we are going to try for #3 (or not...) and I said even if we wanted, we couldn't - no af.
Whereas with DD, af returned at around 5mths post partum and I was pg by 7mths - so that would be now!
And yet this time, no af!!
Did af return around the same time for you between kids? Or different, like for me?

That's strange - more feeding, shorter return? Weird!
DS feeds around the clock too... Maybe that's why I'm still waiting...
It is possible to still fall PG without AF, happened to my aunty (many!) years ago as she was BF her first born and had no AF. Her kids are just under 11 months apart
I dont have any personal advice about the return of AF between babies but I reckon the whole thing about BF keeping AF at bay definitely doesn't apply to everyone. I have a few friends who had full on 'booby' kidsand their AF's returned quite early. One of them was at 6 weeks and her daughter didn't take a bottle until about 13 months!!

Thanks Taurean - I know a few of them too!
I'm definitely not looking to ttc right now... It's more a curiosity I guess! Though if I did fall oh, that'd be ok. I'd just like to know what my body is doing!!
I know what you mean. We were going to start TTC next month but we have a few social engagements coming up that I don't want to be pregnant for (priorities, priorities!) so we've postponed it until April but I'm currently charting and just started using OPKs again this cycle to see where I'm at. I got a postive OPK today so yerhar, I'm ovulating! It's tempting to get on the wagon tonight as I know there is an eggy waiting in the wings (PMSL!) but I really, REALLY don't want to be pregnant just yet. Charting again has been great, maybe you could do that and see if anything is happening in there

After both my boys it was over a year. DS1 had his last feed at 13 months and AF was back 2 weeks to the day after his last BF so I guess she would have made her return even if he had kept feeding. DS2 fed till 14 months and it was almost 2 months after his last feed before AF showed up. Only really stopped feeding so I could get AF back and TTC again both times. I am thinking this bub will be my last so am planning on BFing for longer to find out just how long I can keep AF away.![]()
Well with dd1 and dd2 I only fed for about 3 weeks and by 6 weeks weeks I was on the pill so cant help there....
with dd3 I full time expressed until 8 weeks, then formula fed with the occassion... lets see if she will do it.... and now shes 16 weeks and still no af. I havent gone back on the pill to see what my body does and if we do decided to go again.... yeah! I dont know if that answers anything but I think your body is probably different every time....
I breastfed all 3 of my kids for over a year and didn't start solids till 6 months of age. Fell pregnant twice while still breastfeeding. After my first, I got af back after 7 or 8 months and was pregnant by the time she was 10 months old. After my second, I got af back after 6 months and was pregnant 6 months later. With my 3rd, I got af back after 8 months but it took 7 months till I fell with #4. So you might find you will have a few more months af-free!
Poor little eggy is about to get the walking stick hooked around his little neck and be dragged off into doomsville!!
Charting is addictive...well I think it is anyway! I have the Fertility Friend 'mobile site' on my iPhone cause I couldn't find an app.Yeah I hadnt thought of charting... Never tried that...Might have to look into it! Keep me amused anyway
does FF have an iPhone app???
