how many of u know someone whos gotton pregnant this way? i may be posting this in the wrong spot sorry if i am!! i am feeling some very weird cramping today after using this method last night.. i know its probably too early to be feeling something and most likely all in my head but i just wanted to know how likely it actually is?? i think i am about ten days away from af now but thats approximate.. any ideas? we did actually want to get pregnant but then i lost my nerve lol pathetic i know!!
A friend of mine got her DD that way, but then she also fell pg twice on the pill & depo, so she's just a bit fertile!
I actually fell pg this way too, but lost it at 12 weeks. I didn't know til I was 10 weeks.
Well, we've succesfully used the withdrawal method for years - Molly was an unexpected surprise, but it was one of the times we didn't withdraw, so not entirely unexpected!
if its ovulation its quite late in the cycle.. thanks for your replies sure i am over reacting.. i am kinda dissapointed i lost my nerve oh well theres always next time lol
I know of a couple of people falling pregnant using withdrawel - overall it is around 70% effective as a contraceptive method, and much more effective if you use extra back-up during your fertile window (eg. condoms/diaphragm/abstinence).
It's a pretty easy method to mess up - perceptions change dramatically in the heat of the moment, and there only needs to be a tiny slip-up! I usually advise people to use condoms instead of withdrawel in their possibly fertile times... unless they are open to a new addition to the family
Charting fertile mucous and temperature is over 97% effective as a form of natural contraception when done correctly.
from my understanding ur chances are reasonably high.. sperm can deffinately live that long just depends if he did get out on time or not... then theres the pre ejaculation that everyones been telling me about too... goodluck whatever result ur hoping for..
Yes - there is definitely a chance of conception here - sperm live for 2 - 3 days, and the egg usually lives for between 12-24 hours. During the fertile peak, pre-ejaculatory fluid (pre-cum) can also result in pregnancy - especially if intercourse has occurred more than once in 24 hours.
it was the first time in a week as we only see each other on the weekends, it wouldnt worrie me as we are going to try soon but i would like to sway for a girl and if i ovulated when i think i did then its all boys from there.
Most of the NFP oopsie babies i know (though not mine!) were concieved this way. Also i know someone who has a little girl who was concieved from sex 5 days before she O'd. Her husband and her DTD on Monday morning, Monday afternoon he went to Iraq (US army). Friday morning she got her +ve OPK. She got pregnant. I used NFP of several kinds for 2 years (never withdrawal as i seriously know like 12, no wait 14! kids born of that "method") and they all wanted 5-7 days abstinence before O to be safe.
You won't be feeling pregnancy now, it's probably O. I never used to feel O at all but since DD i get a few hours of cramping and a day of spotting mid-cycle every month. I'd never risk withdrawal personally because DP leaks pre-ejaculate like a tap if i'm in the same ROOM as him, there's no way it'd be safe for us!
I ovulated 2 days latter, had huge pains as if af was going to arrive, it happened on cd12 and i think i ovulated on cd14 dontknow my cycle well yet, if i am i know im going to get another boy lol.
Actually the longer the gap between ejaculation and ovulation the more likely you are to get a girl. Boy sperm swim faster, girl sperm live longer.
When is AF due? You can get tests now that work for some women 4-6 days before AF was due (8-10 days after ovulation) but they aren't hugely accurate. SOme women just don't have enough hcg in their pee that early to be sure. I got faint positives when AF was 4 days LATE. I'd try to hang on until AF is due in the next day or 2, then the result is more likely to be accurate.
