Sorry, I really don't know either, but I'd probably be suspecting all the same things you suggested. Probably best to consult your Dr and see if you can investigate the easier ones (eg hormones, etc) to begin with. Checking for things like endo requires surgery, so better to eliminate the other options first.
I'll be interested to hear what your Dr says. Any chance you can get in earlier? Although, it sounds like you're CD3 today (did I read that right?), so you'd have to wait until next cycle for the CD3 part of the hormone panel anyway.
The day 21 test usually just checks your progesterone (essentially to confirm you O'd). If you get CD3 testing done it checks your oestrogen, LH, progesterone and FSH, which can tell you a variety of things (eg can point to PCOS, DOR, hormone imbalances, etc).
Your GP could order the CD3 tests, but many of them don't understand what they're looking for (I've even heard of some GPs saying you can do it any day of your cycle instead of CD3, which just highlights they don't understand it).
It's always frustrating to wait, but your GYN should have a better understanding and a better idea of what might be causing the spotting. It's already April, so it's just a few weeks. I'd keep a good record of what has been happening and take it along to the appt with you.
So here I am in June with no step closer to results.
Scans and bloods were all good.
I am going to ask for a day 3 test this week....but did a home one & all seemed ok.
I'm guessing I have just some hormone imbalance..
Confused and annoyed! May had a good cycle but the early spotting is back this June.
Going to head to a naturpath too & just ease into gentle exercise/life - maybe I have been doing too much?
Sorry to hear you're still TTC. Getting the CD3 testing done sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't put much stock in the home testing - they're not very reliable. FX the lab also says all is fine. Hope the naturopath can help as well.
