Question What does it mean if your LH surge lasts a few days?

I have been using an ovulation kit for my last 2 cycles. The last cycle showed my LH surge lasted 5 days and the previous cycle showed a surge of 4 days. Is this a normal event prior to ovulation?

plc, LH actually slowly rises and then fades again so yes, it's normal to detect the hormone for a number of days. If ur using LH tests, they should slowly get darker and then fade again. When u have the darkest is usually around 24hrs before u release the egg. Best bet is to BD from the time u get the faint line till the day after it starts fading again. This way u have covered the whole window.

Thanks for your reply Katkins. However the days of LH surge all showed the test line darker than the control line - so no gradual increase for the 4 and 5 days respectively. I am seeing a naturopath now and hopefully I'm on the right track but was interested in your thoughts as well as anyone else's. Thanks again and all the best with your new bub.
